Hotel at a Glance: Executive Hotel LeSoleil

The AAA Four-Diamond-rated Executive Hotel LeSoleil’s stone archways, gilded molding, and oil paintings evoke an aristocratic estate plucked from Rococo France and replanted in downtown Vancouver. At the entrance, a doorman dressed in a gold waistcoat ushers guests into the lobby, where they’ll find red velvet armchairs set in front of a crackling fireplace. The hotel’s easy elegance earned it a nod as one of the Top 25 Luxury Hotels in Canada in the 2012 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards.

Upstairs, the regal theme continues throughout one-bedroom-suite accommodations. Rooms with damask-striped gold wallpaper are furnished with 19th-century European decor, including down duvets and pullout couches adorned with crimson and gold brocades. Each corner suite features an expanded sitting area bathed in sunlight from two floor-to-ceiling windows.

The onsite Alouette Bistro serves French-inspired dishes along with handcrafted cocktails as well as local and international wines.

Downtown Vancouver: Bustling Metropolis with Beautiful Harbor Views

Vancouver’s location on a peninsula between English Bay and Vancouver Harbour presents a rare blend of urban amenities and natural splendor. It’s possible to glimpse the waterfront—and the North Shore Mountains beyond—all across the city, but it’s worth it to visit historic Gastown to shop, eat, and stroll along the harbor. Another retail area worth checking out is Robson Street, a three-block stretch of northern downtown lined with boutique clothing stores and cafés.

At the tip of the peninsula lies Stanley Park, whose 900 acres (400 ha) encompass forests, beaches, and gardens. The Seawall, a 13-mile (22 km) waterfront path, circles the park and has designated lanes for walkers, joggers, cyclists, and inline skaters. There are numerous smaller parks spread throughout the city, too, making Vancouver feel like an urban oasis.

Great location. Comfortable room. This hotel is beautiful and clean. The bed and pillows were so comfortable.Bottled water , coffee and teas were all provided in the room. Located close to Canada Place and close to lots of restaurants and shopping. We enjoyed our walk around the area and felt safe even at night. And to top it..staffs were all friendly specially the front desk personnel. We'll definitely go back and tell our friends and family where to stay in Vancouver.
