The Cayuga Wine Trail and Seneca Lake Wine Trail are nearby as well; request an ice bucket, corkscrew, and wine glasses from your hosts to enjoy any wine you bring back in the comfort of your room.

New York’s Finger Lakes: Rolling Vineyards, Deep Gorges, and More than 1,000 Waterfalls

The Finger Lakes region in Upstate New York gets its name from 11 long, thin lakes that were forged by glaciers thousands of years ago. The upheaval created breathtaking geography—more than 1,000 waterfalls spill down the sides of the area’s famous rocky gorges. Fishing, boating, and hiking are its biggest draws—head to Watkins Glen State Park to follow a 2-mile trail past 19 waterfalls—along with more than 100 wineries.

Ithaca, which borders Cayuga Lake, is the region’s largest town. Come for the postcard-worthy views of Ithaca Falls, and stay for the small-town charm. Downtown Ithaca’s historical buildings house bistros, boutiques, and taverns that serve local wine from the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. This is also where you’ll find Cornell University, one of New York’s two Ivy League schools.

We had a king room for two nights that I bought as a gift for my hubby for Christmas. We received a courtesy call the day of our reservation asking what time we would arrive by Wally. We were greeted by Nancy, Wally and Gus (the cutest dog) upon arrival. Our room was perfect and the hospitality shown made us feel like family. The breakfasts were absolutely amazing, we will be back!!!!

Great B&B with wonderful breakfast We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Glass Magnolia. Wally and Nancy were great hosts, and it was a real pleasure starting every day with a great homemade breakfast. The location was perfect for our daily outings doing wine and cider tasting.

Come for the breakfast, stay for the bed Wally & Nancy are great hosts! Wally made delicious food during our stay with two different breakfast options everyday. The B&B has comfortable rooms with soap, shampoo, hair dryer, and a small TV. They also a guest pantry with coffee, tea, granola bars, and a communal fridge.
