Property at a Glance: Grand Seas Resort

At the newly renovated Grand Seas Resort, it's only a short walk from your private room to a poolside cabana and on to the sun-drenched, sandy white Daytona Beach. And with an outdoor bar and beach-side activities like mini-golf and a kiddie pool, guests will find themselves repeating the trek from beach to pool and back again to experience all of the relaxing amenities available at this resort.

  • Walk along Daytona Beach and visit some of the local attractions, like the Main Street Pier or the boardwalk amusement park.
  • Take a dip in the outdoor pool and lounge at the cabana bar with drinks in hand and views of the ocean.
  • Pump some iron in the on-site fitness center with cardio machines and weights.
  • Putt a hole-in one against friends and family at the on-site mini golf course.

Daytona Beach, Florida: Racing Legacy and a Famed Lighthouse

Hundreds of thousands of racing fans visit Daytona International Speedway each year to watch world-class champions such as Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jeff Gordon. Stock-car, sports-car, and motorcycle events round out the calendar all year, highlighted by the Daytona 500 in February—the first race of the Sprint Cup Series and typically regarded as the most prestigious. On various behind-the-scenes tours, you can explore the speedway's elevated press boxes, banked infield turns, and decadent hot tubs filled with motor oil.

At Daytona Beach itself, cars toting beach gear roll across the hard-packed sand through oceanfront driving zones; there are also traffic-free areas. South of town, you can see the Ponce de León Inlet Lighthouse. There, a spiral staircase winds up to the top of a 175-foot tower, where you can overlook a 52-acre park filled with armadillos, shore birds, and native wildflowers.

Too Small The studio unit is a glorified hotel room. There is an arch separating the bed from the living space a curtain or sliding door would make it more private. The bedroom did not even have a dresser in it for clothes. The closet is tiny. More than 2 people would be crammed in.

Smoking nightmare I have explained our discomfort at the resort this time around due to the poor judgment of the staff for encouraging a very heavy chain smoker to smoke with an outdoor ashtray literally next to our front door and it was disgusting. I reported it to the lady at the front desk but I got excuses, this ruined our vacation.

Nice Place to stay but no balcony This is a very nice resort. Indoor pool was out of working order and it was too cold to use outdoor pool. Again no balcony to be able to sit and watch the ocean, or even hear the ocean from your room. We asked for a 1 bedroom with two bed condo which is what we thought we had, but on arrival they told us they do not have 1 bedroom with 2 beds.
