A very clean quiet grand hotel! The Grand Summit is a very nice description of the hotel because it is very grand driving up to it. We were checked in and in no time we were really impressed with the room! We had the one bedroom suite that had a murphy bed and two couches with one being a sleeper. A nice dining room table with 6 chairs and a full kitchen which we used a lot and had just about all our meals there. A nice big bathroom with double sinks was great to have too. We planned this trip the end of October so there wouldn’t be as much going on and that worked great. We looked at other places but none have compared to the amount of room we had. I almost forgot about the balcony that I didn’t think we were going to get a chance to enjoy but one of the days it was warm enough that we had coffee and enjoyed sitting in the sun. Everyone was so very nice, the place is so clean and we can’t wait to spend another week there next year!

Outdated/Overpriced First I wanna say, for he most part, the staff was fine, especially the lady at the front desk during our late night check in. Its not really their fault I'm not a fan of this place. Its an ownership issue. The other thing, and only thing, we liked about saying here was the sauna and the 2 hot tubs. It was nice to be able to do that with my new husband. However the controls for one of them were non existent and the jets that did work shot straight up from the floor...so no back massage...just water splashing you in the face...why bother? #1: Cleanliness. This appears to be a common issue judging from other reviews. The hallways are covered in stains from i-dont-wanna-know what. That old carpet needs replacing. There were also some uncleaned spills in our room on some furniture. The thing that caught me off-guard the most was that one of our blankets was covered, and I mean COVERED in someone elses thick black hair. Gross. I was fairly weary of everything after that. #2: Outdated/Cheap+High Price. The outside of the hotel and the lobby mislead you into thinking its a rather well maintained and comfortable hotel. Not the case. This place was not worth what they charged. Its unfortunate because I know this location gets them a lot of guests, so I'm sure they could have made the decision to spend some money and update their amenities, furniture, floors, appliances in the past 40 years. Immediately upon entering a room, its like visiting grandmas cheap downtown Massachusetts apartment from 25 years ago. Some people are unlucky enough to end up with a broken AC, in that we got lucky, however a few other things were broken. We made the best of it. The furniture was so hard and uncomfortable, bed included, and the sheets felt like some sort of paper-like material and were very scratchy. The shower head was the same kind they use in prisons, so don't expect to have particularly comfortable sleeps or showers. I swear they could not have cheapened it more. Everywhere they could cut corners and save money, they did. One of the biggest shocks to me however was the lack of modern technology, considering this place is so close to story land and would house a lot of families with kids, theres literally nothing for kids to do! The tvs only offer basic cable, no on-demand, no streaming options. We had to go buy movies from the local Walmart to enjoy some evening flicks. One of the communal rooms had some old books and board games. Some families like that but most kids will not be interested. In the other room, (for a premium) you can access a single PS3. Wow. #3: Food/Cost. First, no breakfast or food included. You buy all of it. And OMG the food we ate was terrible, and we paid way too much. Granted, for transparency, we are used to quality fresh food, We don't have much extra money but we look after our health and buy better food for our family. The hotels little Breakfast/Lunch grill will make you something on the spot upon order, which would have been nice if it wasn't trash. Not the fault of the cooks or the staff, its just the quality of their ingredients. We ordered eggs and bacon. Each order was $7 and change plus tax. The eggs were pale and tasted like the water you boil eggs in. The bacon was discolored and rubbery. So basically you will pay a 700% markup for Walmart factory farm eggs and undercooked Oscar Mayer bacon. If you are into that, just run down to the store and make some yourself in your room.. Which is what we did. We ended up having to grocery shop for our stay just to have decent food to eat. We refused to spend any more money on food they provide for fear of wasting money or possibly getting sick. SO You will pay too much for a 2-star hotel experience, bare minimum outdated amenities, playing dodge-the-stain, possibly broken appliances, no complementary food, and nothing to do. You are simply paying for proximity to Story Land and an OK sauna and hot tub. So use the Sh*t out of that sauna and hot tub (which closes at 10, and is loaded with children until 8:30)...Enjoy!

The Best of everything Stayed 2 nights. Starting at the front desk Zara was fabulously helpful. Warm friendly entry area, heard staff responding instantly to guest needs. Our loft room was so clean and spacious. The room was at the back and we were so appreciated how quiet and peaceful it was. We went to relax, shop and visit friends in Freedom all closely located but out of the crazy busy main shopping area. We will definitely be back and bring others with us, we can all stay in the same room with a fully equipped kitchen and save lots of money. Beautiful place that has it all, a family business who works hard for your enjoyment.

Concierge We stayed at The Grand Summit for my daughters wedding. There was 12 plus of us. We all loved the hotel and what it had to offer, but the best part of the experience of staying there was the concierge, Judy Lamb. This woman was kind, knowledgable and so helpful. The woman is worth her weight in gold! I have know idea how much she makes, but she deserves a huge raise
