Property at a Glance: Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls

The heart and soul of 4-star Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls is its 100,000-square-foot indoor water park. Splashy rides such as the Canada Vortex—an enclosed water slide that shoots you into a swirling funnel before dropping you into the pool below—and a zero-depth-entry wave pool with 3-foot swells surround the park’s iconic hub: a multistory treehouse with a 1,000-gallon tipping bucket. Younger kids will have a blast playing water basketball in Otter Lake and taking on the mini water slides in Chipmunk Cove. Thrill-seekers who are at least 48 inches tall can test their limits on the Wolf Tail water slide, where riders travel 248 feet in just eight seconds as they are hurled down a nearly vertical 20-foot drop and flipped upside down in a 360-degree loop.

The water park, which hovers around 84 degrees all year long, isn’t the resort’s only family-friendly activity. You can also enjoy the arcade.

  • Family-friendly fun: The resort offers games and activities for kids of all ages; there’s also a poolside bar that serves adult beverages. Water park passes are included in this deal.
  • Roomy suites comfortably sleep up to six or seven people. Some suites have themed sleeping areas for little ones.
  • Safety first: Complimentary life jackets in multiple sizes and trained lifeguards help keep families safe and secure.
  • Refreshed and renewed: The most exciting attractions opened this year. The first is Northern Lights Laser Tag. A themed laser arena is the perfect setting for a fun filled experience. Blast your friends, or work as a team to score as many points as you can before time is up. It is non-stop action fun for everyone! The second is Hologate Virtual Reality. Immersive adventures long and short for kids to adults, first timers to veterans. Our ever-expanding library of Virtual Reality games has something for everyone. Experience social play as a team or challenge your friends and family to a player vs. player match.

Niagara Falls, Ontario: Panoramic Views of the Falls near Vegas-Style Casinos and Water Parks

At Niagara Falls, water thunders downward from a height of nearly 200 feet, crashing onto craggy boulders below. The falls straddle the border between Canada and the United States, but the Canadian side of the Niagara River is universally hailed as the finest vantage point to take in all three of Niagara Falls’ photogenic brinks: American, Bridal Veil, and Horseshoe Falls.

Hornblower cruises ferry raincoat-clad passengers around the base of the falls from April to October, depending on the river’s ice conditions. Year-round, Journey Behind the Falls grants a glimpse behind the curtain of Horseshoe Falls—visitors board an elevator that descends 150 feet into the bedrock, then stand at an observation deck steps from the cascading water. A 10-minute walk from the falls is the neon-lit Clifton Hill neighborhood. Its Fallsview Boulevard has plenty of Vegas-style kitsch, including glitzy casinos.

Fantastic family holiday making great memories This is our third year staying at Great Wolf Lodge as we love it so much. The whole experience is really well thought out, with the attention to detail, great food, brilliant water park and other entertainment delivering a fantastic holiday for the whole family. This year we purchased the Wolf Pass, which has been worth every penny, especially with the less than favourable weather. The breakfast and dinner buffets are so well put together, with loads of options to suit everyone, even fussy eaters! Lunchtime options are also good, and you can eat in the water park. The range of slides and activities within the water park itself suit all ages, and even things like the life guards, towel availability, seating provision etc are just what is needed. The staff are so friendly at all times, and always on point for entertaining the kids. There is just so much to see and do here, and that's why we keep coming back.

Great for young kids I was pleasantly surprised with this place for a family of 4. The kids absolutely loved every minute. accommodations were clean and comfortable. Waterpark was awesome and appealed to both age groups ( 2 + 6 ). Food was reasonably priced. the pizza was the best I've had in a while. Staff was friendly and helpful. Will be back!

Great Family experience We've been to Great Wolf Lodge six times now, and while our experiences haven't always been perfect, the staff consistently goes above and beyond to make things right. This effort keeps us coming back, and my three kids love this hotel more than any other water park in Niagara. The outdoor pool is a highlight for my husband and me, offering a relaxing break from the excitement of the park. There are around 7-9 waterslides, an indoor wave pool, and plenty of cabanas for families to enjoy. We always purchase the meal plan, which is convenient, though the breakfast menu could use some variety. It's essential to either make a reservation for breakfast or arrive early, as there's usually a long line; during our last visit, we waited about 43 minutes to be seated. On that occasion, my husband had to request apple juice from a waiter as our son went hypoglycemic—something to plan for if you have a child with a medical condition. The kids' programs are consistently excellent, which is a big draw for us. Our kids particularly enjoy the dance in the lobby, yoga sessions, and balloon making. There's also an arcade on the waterpark level, providing a fun alternative when you need a break from the water. The hotel has several dining options, so you don't have to leave the property for meals. The rooms are okay, though the layout is a bit unusual with the sink located outside the bathroom. However, parking is hassle-free and complimentary, which is a nice perk. Overall, despite a few hiccups, Great Wolf Lodge continues to be a favorite destination for our family due to its fun activities, excellent staff, and convenient amenities.
