St. Louis, Missouri: Urban Park Space and Brewery Tours in the Gateway City

The first thing you notice about the St. Louis Gateway Arch is its height: at 630 feet, it's the tallest manmade monument in the United States, and it dwarfs the other buildings of the St. Louis skyline. Less obvious is the fact that the Arch is exactly as tall as it is wide, stretching out along the banks of the Mississippi River. You can take a ride to the summit for a bird's-eye view of the city's skyline and riverboats riding the Mississippi. Make sure you get to the Arch before 10 a.m.; after that, the lines start to get long, and tickets sometimes sell out in the afternoon. A few miles down the river, you'll find the headquarters of brewing giant Anheuser-Busch, which began producing there in 1852. On a tour through the red-brick brewery, you can sample beers and visit the stables where the company keeps its iconic Clydesdale horses.

Nearby Forest Park’s more than 1,200 acres of green space are also worth a visit. Contained in this space is the Saint Louis Zoo, which corrals hundreds of species in several different habitats; it's frequently cited as one of the best zoos in the country, and entrance is free.

I don’t know why all these people wrote bad reviews about this hotel. The staff is absolutely amazing, caring, understanding and knowledgeable. I had a huge problem with my checkin. Groupon didn’t send the voucher over to the hotel so when my family arrived after traveling long hours we had problems checking on. The guy at the front desk immediately fix the problem. The food was good. O complaints

Horrible Hotel Horrible, disgusting hotel! We came in for a funeral and assumed a Hampton would be a good choice, boy we were wrong. Rooms are dirty, front desk person was so rude, scotch tape holding the elevator button in place. Don’t stay here! Had to change hotels it was so gross. Hilton, if this is a representation of your hotels, I think we will opt for the Marriot next time.

Rare dissapointment with Hampton Over the past 15 years I have stayed at numerous hotels each year due to my heavy involvement in travel softball. Hampton Inn becamse my hotel of choice the last few years and have always had positive stays all over the midwest. Last weekend I reservered a king room w/ sofa sleeper for my wife and daughters in the Fairview Heights location. This was the worst eperience my family has ever had at a Hampton. Got there and was give a different room that what was reserved w/ no sofa. Man checking in behind us was told they didn't have a room for him even though he had made a reservation and paid already. No towels in room, no soap in shower and the night manager didn't have a key to get us soap. Very disappointed.

I don’t recommend staying here! When we arrived we found that the tv had no remote. The room was dirty and smelled funky. When showering, we found the soap and shampoo dispensers were empty. The tub didn’t drain so you stood in water to your ankles! Gross! There was only one wash cloth. There was no toilet paper holder. So the TP just sat on the counter. We only stayed 1 night and won’t be back!
