Lubbock, Texas: Home of Texas Tech University

Lubbock—the 11th largest city in Texas—is home to three universities, including Texas Tech University, as well as a slew of museums. Lubbock is also the childhood home of ’50s rock-and-roller Buddy Holly. Pay tribute to the “Peggy Sue” crooner at the Buddy Holly Center, which features a collection of memorabilia (including his Fender Stratocaster and famous glasses) housed within a gallery shaped like a guitar.
