A resort that is spread too thin and fails to have one good quality thing Almost no seating in the lobby or outside of the restaurant area to enjoy spending time with big families (14 of us couldn’t spend any time all together). Sat at restaurant for 30 min no service. Kiddos were upset the pool closed 4 hours earlier than advertised. Rooms are out of date, different colored lighbulbs and cracked blinds, nonworking outlets etc. The beach needs a good cleaning and needs more than 6 chairs and 2 umbrellas. It really could be a lovely place but the lack of proper maintenance and staffing is gonna put this place out of business. Seems that they are trying to be too way many things, instead of having a few really good quality things to do. Staff that was there was friendly and kind and I’m sure none of this is their fault, they can’t do everything though, one guy said he was in charge of life guarding and front desk and pool that day. Management and owners need a wake up call.

Consider the whole experience you want This resort has potential. But lack of staff and too spread out. You need your own transportation to get to things if staying in cabins and rv camp. Amenities are 1/2 mile to 1 mile apart. For the most part the grounds are kept up well. Except for the hundreds of barn swallows that have taken over the lodge. Both with flying around and dive bombing you and the feces all over the building and side walks/door entrances. The water park is small and the floors covered in sand grit from people coming in from the beach/lake to use either the showers or pool. You pay $25 resort fee but that includes only access to the water park and use of paddles boards at the beach, other rides train, horse/buggy are extra and they have limited times that vary each day. The staff that is there is exceptional! The food at the restaurant was good. For the rv campgrounds you are parking on cement, but no shade and no extra facilities (showers, toilets, playground). Just a glorified parking area mostly for boaters. The golf course was always busy, not sure if they are people staying there or driving in to use. Consider what you are paying for and what amenities you want before staying here.

Run down and nowhere to go My family and I were here on a three day stay for a family reunion. We have young kids so the waterpark was going to be a big deal to them. It closed each day we were there for different reasons (according to the employees they were short staffed, staff member got sick, and then a kid pooped in the water). The rooms were small and I could literally feel the springs from the mattress when I attempted to sleep. There was rust all in the bathtub where I had to bath my kids and the bathroom was tiny. While trying to visit with family members outside on the back porch, the staff thought it’d be a good time to power wash so our large group couldn’t find another space to all gather. The next night they had a special private event so we couldn’t have access to porch or bar that evening either. We were at the mercy of the one restaurant they have on site because nothing is within a reasonable distance from this vacation trap. I was told this place was under new management, but it doesn’t look like they are investing any money into making this a desirable destination for families. Would not stay here, sad I had to spend so much money to stay here, and I would not recommend anyone coming here if they have a choice.
