The Las Vegas Strip: 24/7 Entertainment and Fine Dining

With an almost unlimited variety of casinos, bars and nightclubs, and live entertainment, the general consensus along the Las Vegas Strip seems to be “go big or go home.” And you can go really big here. Make a beeline for the dozens of 24-hour casinos lining the neon-lit Strip to tango with Lady Luck in high-stakes games of roulette, blackjack, and poker; or grab a front-row seat to the city’s over-the-top glitz at nightly magic, acrobatic, and musical performances. Be sure to stick around for mealtimes—casinos on the Strip are known for their fine-dining restaurants and extravagant buffets overflowing with crab legs and prime rib.

Even Sin City isn’t all casinos, all the time. Go shopping at the high-end boutiques found inside most hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, or head to Fashion Show Las Vegas to browse racks at Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue. You can also virtually travel the globe in just a few city blocks, thanks to the Strip’s re-creation of the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, and Venetian canals. And you’ll find a surprising number of activities in Las Vegas for kids hidden amid the raucous nightlife.

Pleasantly Surprised After reading all the negative reviews, I was skeptical about staying here. We just returned from four nights. The checking in procedure does not make sense. I checked in online beforehand but you still have stand in line as you cannot get into your room before 4 pm unless you pay an extra $20. The line is also to get on a kiosk to get your keys if you previously checked in online. The line at 4 pm is long. Besides that we did an upgrade to get a fountain view. The room was very clean. Any questions I did have were answered. Pool was closed but you can use the Paris pool which is the adjoining casino. That pool is very nice but get there early for a chair. This hotel is in an amazing location in the middle of the strip. My only other suggestion would be for them to have a concierge desk so any questions not pertaining to checking in could be addressed.

Horseshoe is not good. Check in before 4 is $20 extra. We were not notified of this beforehand. There is very little choice for a sit down breakfast and the one place they have has terrible food with long lines. Food costs are very high. A simple breakfast of water, croissant, and coffee cost $61. Room service is very limited, expensive, and very slow. We will not be staying here again.

Old and outdated in every way. The Horseshoe (formally Ballys) could really use a major over haul. It's very outdated and dingy. It feels like the last time it was updated was back in the 80s. To begin with, the bathroom is disgusting. Floors dirty, faucets are turning green and deteriorating. The vanity needs to be painted (again) or replaced. All the furniture is old and falling apart. The whole room needs to be painted. The wallpaper and curtains are horribly outdated. They casino is the smokiest compared to Caesars, Bellagio, Paris, and Cosmopolitan. It's also the warmest. The check-in process was bad. They automated it with self check in kiosks, but at 9:00 pm, it told us our rooms weren't ready? Had to go to guest services to get it taken care of. They then put us in a wheel chair accessible room. Then, when we went to change it, the guy argued that they had no other rooms until tomorrow? I countered and put up a fight saying that 4 months ago, we booked a room. How could there not be a room waiting for us? Called a manager over and poof all of a sudden there was a room available. I would not recommend or stay here again. Hey Caesars Group, if you are reading this, fix your hotel!! It truly is in a really bad shape.

Scam or Mistake Tried to add $20 per night for parking. I had no car. Blamed me for not telling them I had no car. Looked like the bathroom floor had not be cleaned before our stay. Also double charge for early check in. Manager Jose Diaz did not apologize for the scam or mistake. Check your charges before checking out. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Thieves waiting to steal you phones. My phone was stolen from a slot machine charging station. Security wouldn't look at the video. I tracked my phone from within the casino, to an address two blocks away, to the airport and now is in China. This is a "ring" and the hotel should take these situations more seriously. I will be more careful but the Horseshoe lost a customer. Thieves everywhere watch out.
