Hotel at a Glance: Hotel Becket

The Hotel Becket borrows its name from the nautical rope used to bind two other ropes together. It’s a concept that also exemplifies the hotel’s dedication to bringing travelers together for memorable vacations in South Lake Tahoe’s vibrant downtown. This sense of unity also influences the hotel’s guest rooms; choose from alpine-accented Tahoe Blue rooms or boutique-style Heavenly rooms, each of which come with amenities including flat-screen TVs, furnishings from designer Jonathan Adler, and architectural flourishes including reclaimed-wood fixtures.

  • Explore the mountains: The hotel sits across the street from Heavenly Village, the bustling shopping center that acts as the gondola gateway to the region’s unparalleled mountain trails.
  • Eat well: The resort’s signature Ten Crows restaurant pairs delectable barbecue cooked over authentic Alabama-style fire pits with craft cocktails and beers from local Tahoe breweries.
  • Stay warm in the indoor hot tub.

South Lake Tahoe, California: Year-Round Haven for Outdoor Adventures and Late-Night Revelry

Lake Tahoe has no real off-season; people find ways to make use of its pristine water, beaches, and mountains all year long. In the summer, the lake’s clear, freshwater surface—which straddles the California-Nevada border—is dotted with swimmers, boaters, and jet skiers. Several ski resorts typically stay open from November to April, and Emerald Bay State Park is accessible year-round. A moderately easy hike to the base of Lower Eagle Falls reveals breathtaking views of the waterfalls crashing down from above.

Spectators gather at night for South Lake Tahoe’s events, which range from wine and food festivals to rock concerts and fireworks displays. A few miles northwest of South Lake Tahoe sits Stateline, Nevada, where a handful of casinos host high-stakes games of blackjack and solitaire.

Don't go here Rooms feel dirty carpet was shredded grab and go breakfast is a joke first room had no closet space for hanging clothes. Felt like a cheap motel. For 200 a night I expected more. I would not recommend this place.

If it were clean If it were clean & cared for, this place would be phenomenal. Restaurant was amazing, check in was friendly and clear, bed was big and super comfortable but the cleanliness was terrible. I didn’t even want to use the bathroom. I won’t go into detail on the cleanliness issues. I hope they hire someone to do an evaluation of performance standards.

$517 Down The Drain I spent $517 on for 1 night. It was dirty, stinky and musty. I didn’t see one cleaning staff the whole time I was there. The room I rented was below one star. The wifi sucked. I couldn’t get a signal. I do not recommend this hotel. The parking sucked. Was only 1 parking for disability! All the way in front of the hotel!!
