Miami Beach, Florida: White-Sand Beaches, Glamorous Nightlife, and Cuban Cuisine

Miami Beach is a small barrier island situated between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay, a shallow lagoon that separates the beaches from downtown Miami. People from all over the world come here to enjoy the white-sand beaches, shop the high-end boutiques, and party at the legendary see-and-be-seen nightclubs the city is known for. The red-hot center of this sexy, international social scene is South Beach, a 20-block stretch filled with upscale lounges, rooftop bars, and ultrahip hangouts behind velvet ropes. Lummus Park beach is packed by mid-morning, and the clubs on Ocean Drive and Washington Avenue—many of which stay open until 5 a.m.—vie for the limelight with VIP service, celebrity DJs, and dressed-to-the-nines crowds.

Beyond the fast-paced luxury of South Beach lies Miami Beach’s softer side. A leisurely stroll through the Art Deco District reveals hundreds of beautiful, candy-colored buildings, including Versace Mansion—a 1930 manor modeled after a palace in the Dominican Republic that belonged to Christopher Columbus’s family. The centerpiece of the city’s arts scene, the Bass Museum of Art displays works from Peter Paul Rubens and Sandro Botticelli, and modern-design objects and propaganda arts fill three stories at the Wolfsonian-FIU museum. There’s also a handful of vibrant ethnic enclaves to explore here, and Little Havana is among the most notable. The neighborhood is lined with family-owned restaurants and Caribbean-style marketplaces, making it a great place to discover some of the country’s most delicious Cuban food, from sugary guarapo juice to pastelitos, or Cuban pastries.

The staff was great and helpful , our tv wasn't working correctly and the staff fixed it right away . The pool was very little on top of the hotel so if your looking to laying out by the pool I wouldn't pick this hotel for that but you are right across the street from the beach which was worth it. Be careful with the restaurant in the hotel they are very sneaky in trying you to drink and eat there . We were promised 2 for 1 and and 50% off our food and ended up with a $232 bill Read carefully in what you order , they do the bait and switch as soon as you sit down.

STAY CLEAR OF THIS ONE This is definitely not a 4* hotel it’s more like a 2* and so overly priced for what it’s worth. The only good thing about this hotel was the location. Upon our arrival and to get to our room we had to cross the courtyard, through the bar, then through the ice cream shop to reach the lift to get to our room. We were put in the old building that used to be another hotel . I mean if I wanted to stay there I would have booked there!! Rooms had a damp feel to them, and also not cleaned properly. After staying here I woke up with 2 bites on my leg which had probably come from bed bugs . Although the staff very nice & polite there was no information given on where the pool etc was. We had paid in advance for breakfast but be known to us we had to walk 2 streets away to another hotel (Hotel Victor which I stayed at my last visit to Miami ) to get this . This was also not stated at time of booking. Had I known this at time of booking I would have cancelled this hotel. We were only booked in for 2 nights & that was enough if this had been longer I would have checked out and went elsewhere. I definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone. One sadly disappointed customer

Noisy as hell and no one cares DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU NEED SLEEP!! First time in Miami and this has well and truly tainted the image for us! I appreciate we came just as Spring Break was closing but the noise is unreal, we had NO sleep and no one around to help in the hotel!! A person decided to sit in the restaurant outside blasting music all night and no one moved him on, the security guard asked if we were okay when we went to try and resolve this issue and he was just sitting in the Lobby as this person played the loudest music whilst smoking drugs. What a shame this is our experience of Miami beach in what is a beautiful setting. You would be better not to stay in any hotels in Ocean Drive as it is beyond no torturous. Never again

Ok stay The rooms were acceptable, with clean bedding and surfaces. However, the bathroom was in need of repair, and the towels had stains. On the positive side, the rooms were very spacious. I would recommend avoiding rooms that face the alley, as the noise can be unpleasant. Additionally, the cleaners left our room door open twice after we returned from a day at the beach we would find the door could be pushed open. The hotel offers free beach towels from reception, and the beach is just a short walk away.
