Hotel at a Glance: Hotel Caza

Hotel Caza makes a stay in San Francisco breezy and easy. Here, they are tucked away by one of its main attractions: Fisherman's Wharf. This not only provides plenty of access to public transportation and major attractions, but this property also has beautiful views of the bay.

  • Playtime: Their lobby houses foosball, pool tables, and arcade for guests that can keep the kiddos occupied before bed.
  • The rooms are spacious and decorated modern with splashes of color to bring coziness to their simple walls and floors.
  • Step outside and be walking distance from Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, the original Ghirardelli ice cream, and more.
  • Fuel the fun: with their grab-and-go snacks in the lobby or grab a craft drink at Cazabar housing top-shelf spirits, local wines, and beer.

Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco: Fresh Seafood and Family-Friendly Fun

Once ground zero for San Francisco's fishing industry, Fisherman's Wharf has blossomed into one of the city's top tourism destinations. Things to do in the waterfront neighborhood range from boutique shopping and gourmet dining at Ghirardelli Square to family-friendly museums, street performances, and seafood restaurants on Pier 39. You can watch a colony of sea lions lounging by the bay, or play vintage pinball machines and penny arcade games at the Musée Mécanique.

Though only a few dozen fishing boats dock here nowadays, there are still plenty of places to sample the wharf's famous dungeness crab. To learn more about the area's history, head to the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, where you can see old schooners, tugboats, and other nautical artifacts. Ferries make it easy to get to other nearby attractions, including the infamous Alcatraz Island prison.

The room was very comfortable. Got a free upgrade for our anniversary. Has a family feel, meant for tourists. No in-room refrigerator, but that’s really the only knock here

Cleanliness in hotel and room. Accommodating friendly staff. Fun and games for family in lobby and pool. Bar lively at night. Proximity to wharf. Not one complaint. Highly recommend, would stay again without hesitation.

Poor Value Hotel hallway smelled bad like sauerkraut. No “do not disturb” sign for my door, so I was disturbed by the housekeeping manager even though I was only there for a day room from 9am-2:30pm. Room is remodeled, but you can tell it was very rundown before they put in new carpet and a layer of paint because the bathroom tub was all nicked and stained. No Chromecast available. Netflix was the only TV app that worked and the hotel didn't clear the prior guest’s user login. Not enough of a savings/value for what you get.

nice enough, unless you like tea or coffee after 10am Nice hotel, clean and nice staff. Lots of free games for kiddos to play- that was fun. Easy walk to fishermans wharf for touristy browsing if you like that sort of thing. Beware though there is no coffee maker or refrigerator in the room- and the coffee station in the morning closes early at 10, so there is no way to make coffee or tea with hot water either after that. (Such a simple expectation I have not struggled with at other hotels) Also no real breakfast- just an extended snack a la carte buy-each-item setup. Which also closes at 10. I was so irritated to not be able to keep myself in warm drinks and snacks after 10 that I will not be returning here!

Great value for the location Great location if you are visiting San Francisco as a tourist. Family friendly. Hotel staff was great. Really our only issue was that our room was facing the alley behind the hotel which was loud when someone was coming to dump trash or they were emptying the dumpsters. it happened a couple times early in the morning. Still, for the location and value, I would probably stay here again.
