Though only a few dozen fishing boats dock here nowadays, there are still plenty of places to sample the wharf's famous dungeness crab. To learn more about the area's history, head to the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, where you can see old schooners, tugboats, and other nautical artifacts. Ferries make it easy to get to other nearby attractions, including the infamous Alcatraz Island prison.
