Hotel at a Glance: Hotel Caza

Hotel Caza makes a stay in San Francisco breezy and easy. Here, they are tucked away by one of its main attractions: Fisherman's Wharf. This not only provides plenty of access to public transportation and major attractions, but this property also has beautiful views of the bay.

  • Playtime: Their lobby houses foosball, pool tables, and arcade for guests that can keep the kiddos occupied before bed.
  • The rooms are spacious and decorated modern with splashes of color to bring coziness to their simple walls and floors.
  • Step outside and be walking distance from Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, the original Ghirardelli ice cream, and more.
  • Fuel the fun: with their grab-and-go snacks in the lobby or grab a craft drink at Cazabar housing top-shelf spirits, local wines, and beer.

Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco: Fresh Seafood and Family-Friendly Fun

Once ground zero for San Francisco's fishing industry, Fisherman's Wharf has blossomed into one of the city's top tourism destinations. Things to do in the waterfront neighborhood range from boutique shopping and gourmet dining at Ghirardelli Square to family-friendly museums, street performances, and seafood restaurants on Pier 39. You can watch a colony of sea lions lounging by the bay, or play vintage pinball machines and penny arcade games at the Musée Mécanique.

Though only a few dozen fishing boats dock here nowadays, there are still plenty of places to sample the wharf's famous dungeness crab. To learn more about the area's history, head to the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, where you can see old schooners, tugboats, and other nautical artifacts. Ferries make it easy to get to other nearby attractions, including the infamous Alcatraz Island prison.

The room was very comfortable. Got a free upgrade for our anniversary. Has a family feel, meant for tourists. No in-room refrigerator, but that’s really the only knock here

Cleanliness in hotel and room. Accommodating friendly staff. Fun and games for family in lobby and pool. Bar lively at night. Proximity to wharf. Not one complaint. Highly recommend, would stay again without hesitation.

Fantastic stay at Hotel Caza — perfect location, great vibe! We loved everything about our stay at Hotel Caza! The location couldn’t be better — just a five-minute walk to the Powell-Hyde and Powell-Mason cable car lines, two of the most popular routes in the city. We rode both lines up the hills and enjoyed walking back down — such a fun way to explore San Francisco! Our room was super clean, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom was roomy, well-stocked, and had a fantastic rain shower. After a day out in the city, it was the perfect place to relax. The hotel’s lobby had a really fun, playful vibe with a pool table, cozy seating areas, and even a cornhole game. Plus, Hotel Caza offers free bikes to guests — such a great bonus for getting around San Francisco! We booked the Park and Stay package, which saved us money on parking and made driving around really easy. We also appreciated the option for a late paid checkout, giving us extra time before leaving. Every staff member we met was friendly and helpful, and it was clear this hotel runs smoothly — we even noticed lots of airline crews staying here, which we always take as a good sign. Highly recommend Hotel Caza — we’d absolutely stay here again!

Cheap and cheerful The best thing about this hotel is its location. The location is perfect. We had booked a Curio Hilton which are usually amazing but unfortunately we didn’t check before arrival and it happened to be in the Tenderloin area which was SHOCKING and felt unsafe so we left looking for another hotel as we drove. We found Caza on booking.com and decided to stay there. We had read reviews on the noise and noise is an issue at night, people dragging bins, cars going up and down but for us, having left a hotel that was so awful this was manageable. There is no restaurant on site which is bizarre as we’ve never stayed in a hotel with no breakfast before but there’s a cafe down the street called Hollywood cafe which is nice. Rooms are a bit run down. Shower not the best. The staff are lovely though and the games room is good. The pool is a bit grubby but it’s unique to have one in San Francisco. Overall had we not come from a bad location we would never have chosen to stay here but i'm glad we did because the location was perfect.

Nice stay Great hotel! Loved the location, close to everything! Clean, comfortable bed, nice pool area, all staff were friendly. Just a bit loud from the outside in the mornings, maybe the other side is quieter? We had a bay view. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
