Venice Beach, Los Angeles: Colorful Boardwalk and Wide Beaches

In the late 1890s, tobacco magnate Abbot Kinney set out to create a resort town–theme park hybrid that was reminiscent of Venice, Italy. He chose a marshy area of Los Angeles near the beach and hired construction crews to dig out canals so that gondolas could carry tourists to and fro. Kinney brought on architects to design hotels and stores with a distinctly Italian feel. He also added Kinney Pier, with attractions including a dance hall, auditorium, and aquarium. By the 1950s, the area had fallen into disrepair, but Venice was revitalized after an influx of hippies and artists moved in during the 1970s. Today, the Ocean Front Walk remains a prime spot for people-watching—it's a bustling blend of musicians, artists, street vendors, skateboarders, and only-in-LA eccentrics.

If you get tired of lounging on the sands of Venice Beach, you can hop on the 26-mile bike path to ride up the coast to sunny Santa Monica. This beachfront locale is best known for its namesake pier, which juts into the Pacific Ocean and hums with lively amusement park attractions, including a Ferris wheel, a roller coaster, and a carousel from the 1920s.

The gist of my experience is the roof. The roof garden where I ate the excellent food while enjoying the magical view. This is the best hotel I’ve ever been at, everything was fantastic the staff was super kind and helpful. The room was really big at a great price and the view was Venice beach and overall I had a super great time at this hotel. Τhe breakfast was excellent and plenty of choices the hotel seems small but it’s giant it also has a roof garden that I preferred to go in the sunset also it has food and drinks there. The overall experience was fantastic. I personally want to thank my friend Frank because I broke my ankle and couldn’t arrive the correct date so I went a week later, I thought that because of the accident we would be in a not good room but every room was fantastic and also he put us in a better room than the planned one that had better view. Frank thank you, I’ll come back in with the first opportunity that I get. Marinos

Venice Beach If you want to be near Venice Beach and enjoy the ability to walk or bike the sites, this is a fantastic location. Venice Beach is a challenge for parking on a good day This hotel does have the benefit of on-site parking but it is valet only and runs about $50 a day. The rooftop bar is quite popular among locals and tourists, so Go early if you want a seat. The hotel amenities are worth the extra daily fee $40 particularly access to things like free bikes and gear for the water as well as everything from basketballs to volleyballs.
