Hotel at a Glance, Hotel Figueroa

When Hotel Figueroa was first commissioned at the start of the 20th century as a safe and exclusive haven for professional women travelers such facilities were a rarity. Since then, the hotel has always stayed true to its tradition, being a stronghold for social progress and creativity. Recently restored with a design inspired by its initial 1926 Spanish Colonial grandeur, the hotel offers a safe urban oasis for anyone wishing to explore downtown LA.

  • Eat up in the hotel’s acclaimed restaurant, Veranda, run by chef Adrian Garcia who creates his meals from locally sourced ingredients.
  • Relax in a unique coffin-shaped pool that is nestled in the botanical heaven of a beautiful courtyard.
  • Keep fit in a 24/7 fitness center, equipped with two treadmills, weights, kettlebells, functional strength trainer, elliptical machine, and more.
  • The decor: enjoy art pieces adorning the walls of the art deco-inspired hotel.

Downtown Los Angeles: Shopping, Restaurants, and Museums in the Heart of the City

Stroll past the skyscrapers of downtown Los Angeles and you’ll see gleaming modern architecture, neon pagodas, and maybe even a celebrity or two. This 65-block district is incredibly diverse; its easy-to-navigate street grid is divided into multiple quarters, each of which enjoys a distinct cultural identity. In Little Tokyo, you can visit bakeries, shops, and restaurants reflecting the residents’ Japanese-American heritage. The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA is also here; it houses a vast collection of abstract-expressionist, minimalist, pop, and conceptual work by the likes of Jackson Pollock, Robert Rauschenberg, and Mark Rothko.

The dining and nightlife scene mirrors the area’s diversity. You can find nearly any kind of food here, from Peruvian to Vietnamese to Persian. An opulent option is The Edison, an upscale bar built into a century-old power plant. Nearby, you can visit some of the city’s most popular entertainment venues, including the L.A. Live, which features 6 performance spaces, 19 restaurants, a cineplex, and the Grammy Museum. The Staples Center is right next door; depending on the season, you can watch the Lakers, Clippers, or Kings in action.

Great stay near Convention Center Great property located in walking distance to the convention center. Nice pool atmosphere but lacking on F&B options near the pool. The resort fee is expensive and unnecessary in my opinion as they don't provide any extra services or value for the resort fee. The internet was solid for a business use. The main floor restaurant / bar area has a great atmosphere and is very appealing. The elevators are very slow unfortunately. Awesome staff! Valet parking onsite is prompt and car park is literally beside the hotel, no long walks. I'd stay again if needed.

Cut boutique hotel Such a cute and unique boutique hotel. The staff was friendly and loved the decor and feel. My room was cute and the bathroom was beautiful. I would have loved to enjoy a hot day at the pool with a drink. I did my first peloton ride as well in their gym! If you like aesthetically pleasing venues, this is your place?
