Excellent stay We stayed 4 nights in room 1808, a junior suite with a king bed, couch and coffee table, desk and chair, and small kitchenette with a mini fridge, small stovetop and oven, microwave, Nespresso machine and kettle. We couldn’t have been more comfortable. I had requested a quieter room when booking and this room was just that. It overlooks Sherbrooke St instead of the high rise construction behind the hotel. The room smelled stuffy when we first got there but opened the window to let fresh air in and that solved that. One reviewer mentioned the lack of tea and coffee in the room. 4 Nespresso pods and 2 tea bags. More pods available for purchase. I brought my own sleeve of Nespresso pods and extra tea bags. There is a Provigo grocery store a 13 minute walk away. We got milk for tea and breakfast provisions there. The hotel itself was very quiet but that could also be due to the fact that it was mid December and perhaps not many people travelling. There are 3 elevators, easily fitting 6 people as opposed to a previous review saying they are postage stamp sized. We never had to wait for an elevator but that could be due to the time of year. There are 2 restaurants on site plus lots of places to eat very near the hotel. We didn’t have a car so either walked everywhere or took Ubers. This is an older hotel with lots of character (but modernized), right in the heart of downtown Montreal. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We loved our stay here and would certainly stay again.

Good enough The hotel staff are very welcoming, including the friendly valets. The room is dated but clean. The construction behind the hotel is annoying but all they can do is put you in a front room, which they did not do. The breakfast was average. The travelzoo package was an extreme exaggeration, calling two beers a $35.00 value and giving the breakfast an equivalent overstated value. Location is fine for McGill visits but not good for old Montreal.

Highly recommend! Location is 10/10 Overall the hotel price and location cannot be beat! It's location is wonderful - steps away from the Peel subway stop, cafe's and bars all closeby, and restuarants that would suit anybody's preference (high-price and more moderate!). We stayed here to attend a concert, and it's a 10-minute walk from the Centre Bell - truly cannot ask for a better spot. The rooms were really clean and nice furniture. We especially enjoyed how the kitchen setup was tucked away, so you didn't feel cramped in the room in any way. The room also had robes to use (such a luxury), super comfy beds and pillows. Due to the time of year, we couldn't use the rooftop pool, but did go up in the elevator to take a peak and it's beautiful! With a view of the trees and hill, it would be a nice spot in the summer. The staff were lovely (we're English-speaking), and helpful at all times. We really loved the valet parking option; truly we parked the car and didn't have to think about it since walking or subway options were much easier. If we find ourselves in the area again, we'll definitely be back and will try to bar/restaurant; due to a limited amount of time we weren't able to this time, but the spaces looked lovely. Highly recommend this place!

Shout out to Dora - restaurant/bar. On her own, Dora was able to manage a large crowd and serve yummy drinks! Merci Clean and spacious rooms. Bonus - kitchen! fridge, stove, microwave. Utensils and plates , cutting board (bring knife) and glasses provided. If you want ice, take elevator to the 27the floor; Front desk staff friendly. Construction happening next to the hotel - bring ear plugs. Close to all the major streets!

Location can't be beat I'm not sure why the overall rating for this hotel is showing as 3.5. We found it to be clean and comfortable and the hotel staff very friendly and responsive. For location, it can't be beat. It's on one of the best streets in the City, within short walking distance to museums, McGill University, great restaurants, public transportation, and shopping. We would definitely stay here again.
