Spokane, Washington: Riverfront Park near the Rocky Mountains

Spokane is Washington’s second-largest city, but it manages to stay in touch with its green side. In fact, the town’s motto is “Near nature. Near perfect.” Throughout Spokane, you’ll find tons of parks and gardens as well as the Spokane River, which flows through downtown. And then there’s the thundering Spokane Falls at Riverfront Park. The 100-acre public green space also features a century-old carousel, an opera house, and an outdoor Ice Palace that’s open for skating from October through March. There’s a host of recreational opportunities just outside of Spokane as well. You can go boating and fishing on Lake Coeur d’Alene across the Idaho border (it’ll take you about an hour to get there), and the nearby Rocky Mountains offer unparalleled skiing, biking, and hiking.

I seriously don’t get why these negative reviews are even here. This place is great! I think some people just like to complain and this is their anonymous way of doing it. I have not one single bad thing to say about this hotel. It is very nice, the room is great and has a huge flat screen TV , the property and the pool is awesome and it has it’s own restaurant and bar. I highly recommend it!

Could stand to improve for how much they charge for a night Yes, renovated, pretty, looking grand. They could pay a little better attention to room requests, they had completely ignored my request for a higher floor until reminded, which means they didn’t even read it. Also, had to kill a pretty dang big bug that was happily chilling on the wall. Now I am afraid to close my eyes. Bugs would be a bit understandable if it was a ground level room, but up on the 7th floor? Doesn’t bode well

Just awesome! On July 26th around 5 pm the Upper Cementery Fire started, it was 2 minutes away from our house, I took my kid, my 3 cats and left our house. We didn't have where to go because we relocated to Spokane from another city 2 weeks ago and we didn't know anybody... We went to 3 different hotels and each one of them turn us around because of my pets, even though were pet-friendly hotels. After 2 hours of driving around (and feeling very concerned) I called The Centennial hotel, Xavier took my call and after listening to our situation he told me "don't worry ma'am we got you, come here", and so we did. He was understandable and friendly all the time, he called his manager and we got us a special rate and charged me one pet fee due to the fire situation. I can't thank Xavier enough for all he did for us, that was outstanding customer service! We liked our room it was comfortable, big enough for the 5 of us, my cats were comfortable too and exploring around, which is rare when they are in a new place. Thank you very much Centennial Hotel, we'll be back!

Decent hotel and close to amenities Just a one night stay in Spokane driving through to Oregon. Lots of free (included) outdoor parking which is important (oversized truck). Conveniently located close to downtown, restaurants and other amenities. Front desk staff was just OK though.
