Gold Beach, Oregon: Coastal Wilderness with Pristine Beach

The secluded Gold Beach lies about 45 miles north of the California border, where the Rogue River meets the Pacific Ocean. It’s a relatively untouched spot on the Oregon coast, replete with gorgeous ocean vistas flanked by rocky headlands hiding just around every corner. Its namesake beach stretches for 2 miles and is well-suited for tidepooling and clamming. A short drive inland is the Rogue River–Siskiyou National Forest, and an hour’s drive south you can walk between the towering old-growth trees—some of the tallest on Earth—at Redwood National Park.

I understand Jot’s is under new ownership and I hope they can get in a better cleaning crew, someone else’s toothpaste spittle was all over the bathroom mirror, little kids hands and kiss prints were all over the main mirror, the sliding glass door was filthy with pop or coffee dribbled down it, I ended up washing that one both inside and out. When we moved the chairs 😮😬🙄 food, crackers ...

Hotel was overbooked and our room was sold to someone else before us. They gave us a dirty room where the person checked out before us and it was disgusting. The room, the restroom, the beds were filthy. Full of hair and stains. Even around the sink. We told or concerns to the front desk lady but she said there's nothing they can do. She also accepted the facts i listed above

Great location, pretty decent hotel. We enjoyed a one-night stay at Jot's Resort during our travels of Oregon and Northern California. The location is ideal with great views overlooking the Rogue River out to sea - it was wonderful to watch the seals swimming around from our balcony. The room was decent and clean with everything we needed. There is plenty of parking available however, no elevators. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The Landing North restaurant is a short walk across the road and a good place to stop by for dinner.

Old Rooms very dated and the price did not reflect that at all. Was on the second floor and was difficult to carry bags up. Place is built of sticks and two stories. Has the bay in rear so lots of fishermen gather there. If you can find a better one I’d suggest you take it

Front desk needs attitude adjustment! We were/ have never been treated like this before!! The front desk lied to us, acted like we were putting them out for doing there job!! Kept saying that our room was being cleaned. Well if they considered that cleaned.....they need a new vacuum as well as bed linens. We slept on top of the linens..what's THAT tell you. Shame, shame, shame! We love traveling and will continue to do so, but we'll NEVER stay here again!! I'd say something to the management, but I don't think it would matter.
