Monticello, New York: One of the largest villages in the county

Those who are already fed up with the hustle and bustle of major cities may take a deep breath and truly unwind in Monticello, New York. However, there's plenty of attractions here, too. One of the most notable landmarks is the village's Monticello Raceway that attracts visitors from various parts of the country. Now the raceway has turned into a racino which hosts both electronic slot machines and horse racing. What's more, the neighboring area features Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, the site of the 1969 Woodstock Festival. It's also fine if guests start missing more noisy places as New York is just about 100 miles away.

Hidden gem close to NYC / LI All staff were kind and very accommodating from check in to check out. Book early resort sells out. You will need at least a 2 night stay to enjoy everything. Rooms were clean and upscale. Parts of the resort we visited were well kept and up to date. We would recommend for larger families. Thanks

Spring Break Trip with kids Overall, our kids had a great time and that’s what caused me to rate the trip high. The two bedroom suite was nice but the soap dispensers didn’t work in either bathroom. Also the rooms aren’t cleaned daily, only every 3 days or when you check out. So you need to take out the trash yourself and haggle for fresh towels when you spot the cleaning ladies in the hall serving other rooms. The waterpark was fun for my family since my kids (6 &9 yo) are thrilled seekers. They rode the water slides over and over. They especially love the nor’easter, which is their most thrilling ride. However, I was disappointed that the lazy river was closed for repairs during the entire 3 days we spent there. However, the indoor/outdoor hot spring was nice! We made the effort to eat outside the resort for most meals because I had read the poor reviews about the food beforehand. However, on our last night I decided to give the buffet a try. My kids liked it and ate all their food, which says alot because they’re picky eaters. My husband and I didn’t have high expectations so we were pleasantly surprised. The arcade was amazing, no doubt! The rope course, the rock climbing wall and laser tag were really fun. That made up for the other concerns that we had. My kids are now insisting that we go back, which we probably will. This place is great if you can see it from your kid’s perspective.

Great trip to Kartrite! Our trip to Kartrite was great! The kids had such a blast in the water park! The lifeguards were very good and very attentive. Kids had so much fun playing laser tag too! Isaiah Madden in the arcade and laser tag area was so nice and helpful! We definitely look forward to visiting Kartrite again!
