Overcharges Charging extra for AC at $ 13.00 necessity of service, not an extra requested item. We are long time Marriott owners and trade often. For this alone we will never book a Shell Vacation Club Resort again. Running out of creative ways of nickle and diming your guests, pillows will be your next upgrade. $200.00 American extra for 7 day stay 245.00 Canadian on top of already expensive trip charges . Never again Shell Vacations! See Ya! Larry Sillery Canada Guests

No help between Wyndham Diamond <> Shell Vacation Club My reservation is actually is for tomorrow, so I will update this review after my stay. But while it's fresh in my mind, wanted to discuss my experience trying to request a suite upgrade as a Wyndham Diamond member. I spoke with the Wyndham Diamond concierge and they transferred me to Shell Vacation club because they had no access to upgrade the reservation. Shell Vacation club transferred me back to Wyndham Rewards. No one has helped me. It my wife's birthday during my stay this week, so hopefully it goes well- Fingers crossed.

Extra fee if you want air conditioning even if you’re a long time owner with Shell vacations club Hawaii Nice unit. Friendly staff. Disappointed that after owning with Shell Hawaii for decades and paying the high maintenance fee that I also was told there’s a daily charge for air conditioning! Why charge your own owners such am additional hidden fee?

Not the best/not the worst My husband and I reserved a room for a few days here while visiting the Big Island. Beautiful property, amazing sunsets and nice/well kept grounds upon coming in. Check in went smoothly and the staff was very nice. We were instructed to get our wrist bands for the pools at the activities desk. We headed over and immediately became bombarded about a promotional deal for an 8 night free vacation, etc etc. We had dinner reservations and weren’t interested at that time so they said they would call us. 10 calls later over the course of 12 hours, I disconnected our room phone because I was pretty annoyed. I like that there are 2 different pools, one designated for families and a quiet pool which is more my husband and I’s speed. Our rooms were overall nice-big open kitchen area, nice private outdoor patio, good size rooms and bathrooms. Bathrooms seemed a bit outdated and shower not super clean. We also had issues with our faucets/hot water upon check in. Unfortunately there was only a ground level room available and I don’t recommend this if you value quiet. Very noisy, right by parking area. We were instructed that there would be fire hydrant testing one evening btwn the hours of 11p and 1a. Long story short, there was an issue with the water during the process which left us without water for almost 24 hours. It quickly became a big inconvenience and was not handled properly at the time. However in the end, we were compensated for 2 nights which we accepted as we understand this is something outside of their control. This is a nice property, with stores right across the st and food stores close by/20-25 min drive from Kona airport. However if you’re looking to do more hiking, volcano national park Mauna Kea etc I suggest staying on that side of the island

Roach problem We like the location of this resort. We have stayed here before. The resort clearly has a roach problem. We saw roaches in the kitchen every day of our stay. It is hard to believe that this issue wasn't known before we were assigned the building/unit.
