Virginia Beach, Virginia: Award-Winning Boardwalk and Seaside Museums

English settlers from the Virginia Company of London first stepped foot onto American soil in what is now Virginia Beach, Virginia. They would go on to found Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement, along the James River. But before they left the shoreline, they erected a cross on the spot where they had disembarked. Today, the First Landing Cross commemorates this momentous event. Needless to say, a lot has changed in Virginia Beach since the 1600s. The seaside town has become a family-friendly destination known for supersize beaches and a 3-mile-long boardwalk dubbed one of America’s best by Travel + Leisure.

Very ghetto! One of the concierges was so rude! He was very nasty and sarcastic! Every time I had a question about the policies, he would tell me “you should know this” I asked him why I didn’t see anything about a $250 deposit when I booked my reservation and he told me “do you not know what a deposit is?” Also, the shower was gross and there was mold on the lamp!

The service was ok. My reservation had to be redone because the original didn’t convert from Groupon. Had I not called to confirm two hours ahead I wouldn’t have had room. The tub looked as if something was growing from it around the bottom and the room had a funny odor

breakfast in morning had no eggs just two pans of sausage plus it ends at 8am which is way to early. For some reason this is the only hotel in area which charges you to park your car in there parking lot it's like 16 dollars a day

Good Value Planning our trip to Virginia Beach I decided to book at the La Quinta by Wyndham Virginia Beach. The hotel was one street over from the Boardwalk, had great rates, and the pictures showcased the hotel as modern. The day before arrival, I completed the online Check-In for the La Quinta by Wyndham Virginia Beach which was super easy and very straightforward. I love that they offered a few different early check-in options which I decided to add one on to my booking. Though I added the early check-in, it’s not fully confirmed until the property replies. To my dismay, the early check-in was not approved as the property was sold out the night before and housekeeping needed time. Upon arriving at the property, the location was easy to find. There were ample parking spaces and the exterior looked exactly as it did in the pictures. I parked and headed inside to the front desk. The desk attendant who assisted me was very nice. She welcomed me to the area and engaged in conversation as she checked me in. Once check in was complete, I grabbed my stuff and headed to 519. The elevator is at the far end of the hallway which allowed me the chance to see the gym area. The pool is outside so it was still closed for the season though it was in the high 70’s. The elevator is older and not all the buttons light up; however, I got to my floor with no issues. The interior of the La Quinta by Wyndham Virginia Beach is two fold. There is modern furniture and a coat of refreshed paint, however, places such as the elevator, ice machine rooms, and hallways still have an older look and feel to them. Once in my room (519), it was spacious, clean, and fresh. There were no odors, no traces of bugs, and nothing was broken. The bathroom is super small compared to the size of the room, but it works. **To Note: The shower curtain was too short for how high the bar is so make sure to turn the nozzle towards the wall. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the La Quinta by Wyndham Virginia Beach. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and Ingot my money’s worth. Next time I’m in the area I will definitely check out the rates for the La Quinta by Wyndham Virginia Beach as an option.

Waste of money Nice location but I’d be surprised if this place is still open next year—dirty rooms, bad odors, dark hallways, a falling-apart elevator, and a bathroom door that hits the toilet. The rooms are not clean at all. the company is squeezing the last drops out of this hotel before demolition is less expensive than renovation.
