Not living up to its potential... or its prices This hotel is priced like a much better property. It has a beautiful location and friendly staff, but the infrastructure and cleanliness are not up to snuff. We stayed in one of the recently renovated suites, but it didn't feel that way. The floor was sloped, the spiral staircase was rickety, and the window wells were filled with cobwebs and dead insects. The furniture was a mishmash that included oddly bulky rocking armchairs. The lamps were mismatched, and one of the lights by the bed was already burning through its shade. There were no soap dishes and not enough towels for a family of four. The small breakfast credit – $7 per person – entitled us to some food from the nearby cafe, whose pastries were mediocre. We could also have gone to the sister property a mile away, where the menu was quite limited. Guests would probably do better at a local diner. In short, for about $500/night, this was not what we hoped for. On the kitchenette counter there was a comment card asking what one thing the hotel could have done better to improve our stay. But there was no pen... which just about sums it up.

Deeply Disappointing We have been to hundreds of hotels of all stripes over the course of our careers and personal vacation lives. We had high expectations for Ledges based on the web description. To be fair, the view of the waterfall was lovely, but the hotel itself was deeply disappointing. Be aware that the marketing and accomodations bear no resemblence to one another and it is hard not to feel that the owners are engaged in intentional fraud. The price alone suggests a high-end experience. Our single night stay with all fees was $500+ for a first floor room with a view of the parking lot. The furnishings could be generously described as 'bare-bones'. No standard features such as a mini-fridge for leftovers or make-up towelettes in the bath area. We understand it is a historic site, but the lack of amenities is not dependent upon hotel age. The pool and hot-tub mentioned were at a different property altogether, requiring a bathing suit car-ride and rubber bracelet. The noise from the floor above was deafening (literally). We had a lot of trouble falling asleep as it sounded like the ceiling might cave in. Our staff experiences were mixed with one disrpespectful encounter and one very pleasant. Needless to say, we cannot recommend this hotel and would instead suggest visiting the lovely waterfall parks in the area and finding a less expensive (and more welcoming) place to sleep.

It's not as good as the photos. Our room was on the first floor with a view of… the parking lot along with all the sounds that go with it. This a very photogenic hotel so I won’t deny that we got some great photos. However, the bathroom was outdated and not maintained, and as far as the rest of the room - you could tell they were doing their best. But the certain spots like the walls had dust/dirt and although the bed was comfortable and the sheets were soft, the comforter was light and flimsy. Not cosy at all. Our reservation came with a breakfast credit and I’ll say this - the coffee was not bad (and I am picky- I won’t even drink Starbucks)! I’d come back to eat at the restaurant because we didn’t get to try it but I don’t think I’ll come back as a guest until they can renovate… though they might be the best accoms in the area. *the 2 bed suites seem better but I toured them and just feel like it’s more of the same just with extra room.
