Palm Coast, Florida: Miles of Coast near St. Augustine and Daytona Beach

As one of Florida's newest cities (it wasn't incorporated until 1999), it may be easy to overlook Palm Coast in favor of its more famous neighbors, St. Augustine and Daytona Beach. But look a little closer, and you'll see that the town has its own draws. The coastal city enjoys 70 miles of shores along Florida's coastline and, within the city itself, over 125 miles of walking and biking trails. Explore the trails at the Washington Oaks Gardens State Park to spot native and exotic plant species and tropical birds, or stroll along the Intracoastal at Waterfront Park to spot dolphins and waterfowl.

Should you choose to make the trek to a larger town, consider taking the 90-minute drive towards Orlando to Merritt Island. There, you can check out the Kennedy Space Center, the world’s only public space-launch area, where NASA sent shuttles into the stratosphere in front of thousands of spectators.

I paid for my reservation through Groupon. For New Year Eve . But when it was Time to check in the resort they said Groupon did not lock my reservation in the system. And that they had no availability. I am still waiting for my refund .

Great Local Spot Very family -friendly resort. Nice location 30 min from St. Augustine or Daytona. Huge rooms, more like apartments! A lot of fun activities for the kids. The grounds are very aesthetically pleasing. Looking forward to finding my way here again!

Just be careful renting here. Great location, I wasn't going to do a review until I got home and realized how bad my things smelled, it took me over an hour to clean my c-pap machine. The good, great location, polite staff, nice clean pool, hot tub has no jets, but is hot. The bad, the room hasn't been updated for probably 45 years, the 80s decor gives it away, which is fine if it's clean and in good shape which wasn't the case for our room. If I was spending more time in the room I would have switched, I should have asked to switch or gone somewhere else. They did call and ask about my stay and I told them that the room was dirty and offered to send housekeeper, that would have not made a difference, the room hasn't been maintained in years a 15 minute clean would hardly help. The room smelled like mildew and cigarette smoke, I bought Clorox spray and I had lysol wipes. There is plastic bags ad cans in the water, the outside of the buildings are in need of repair. The toilet in the main bath was loose and original I don't know how the resort themselves green when the 1980s toilet tank had more water than the LA fire hydrants. For a no smoking facility the smaller bedroom smelled like smoke and there were cigarette burns everywhere. I feel bad writing this review but my things smelled so horrible. I recommend that you ask to see the room prior to staying. This is an old timeshare resort that I'm sure they do the bare minimum until all the owners are gone, because they haven't put the the maintenence fees back in to the resort. I'm sure in it's day it was a great resort.

A bit dated but clean and quiet. The resort is older and a bit dated but clean and quiet. There's no onsite restaurant or bar but many nearby. The pool looked sparkling clean. It was cold when we were there so we didn't use it. There are water features all around the resort which was nice and walking paths.
