Leavenworth, Washington: Bavarian-Themed Town near Skiing and Whitewater Rafting

Located in the Cascade Range, Leavenworth draws visitors all year long with an abundance of outdoor activities. In the winter, skiers and snowboarders hit the slopes at nearby Stevens Pass. Hikers and whitewater rafters take over in the warmer months. About 700 miles of trails surround the town, meandering through the mountains and the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. The Icicle and Wenatchee Rivers run through the area as well, attracting rafters with Class II and III rapids.

Leavenworth is a center for all things Bavarian. You’ll find German-style bakeries, bars with beer gardens, and several restaurants where you can try kielbasa, bratwurst, ciderkraut, and specialty mustards. The town’s annual Oktoberfest takes place over the course of three weekends, beginning with a procession of villagers sporting traditional dirndls and lederhosen.

Great great! Overall wonderful experience! There was a plumbing issue in the cabins, but Yvonne and the team took care of us - got us re-booked at a different hotel the first night, then got us in at another LOGE location the second night. It was wonderful! Other staff we encountered including Richie at the bar/cafe were aware of our situation and were so accommodating and wonderful! A great birthday weekend for my girlfriend and our friends.

A Favorite Family Tradition We love to stay at the Loge - we've stayed here every October for the past 5 years, and we plan to keep the tradition alive! What a fantastic experience, the grounds, the cabins, the location by the river - so much more fun than a traditional hotel, and is a beautiful setting for making memories. Close enough to walk into town, but still feels like you're out in the woods. Highly recommended! Staff is always helpful, and the rooms are small but comfortable and clean.
