Times Square, Manhattan: Flashy Neon Lights and World-Class Culture

Times Square is at the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. The famous address—affectionately known as “the Crossroads of the World”—is home to hypnotizing billboards, giant wraparound news tickers, and the neon lights of Broadway. Beyond the glitz and gimmicks, there are a number of cultural offerings in the area, ranging from museums to Michelin-rated restaurants. Buildings of historical and architectural interest include the Paramount Building and One Times Square, site of the annual New Year's Eve ball drop.

Nearby, the Museum of Modern Art houses a trove of masterpieces including Vincent van Gogh's The Starry Night, Claude Monet's Water Lilies paintings, and Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans. Save time for a stroll through the museum's outdoor sculpture garden, where installations are clustered around sparkling reflecting pools. About a mile north of Times Square, the David H. Koch Theater is home to one of the world’s foremost dance companies—the New York City Ballet, which stages contemporary works as well as classics like Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.

To me it's about customer service and the customer service was beyond my exceptions. Allison at the front desk is an angel in human form. She was so accommodating to me, I'm a disabled veteran. I was traveling to attend an event at the UN. The location is so close to the UN. You and walk there. You can take the train or Uber. Amtrak and the regular train is so close. Radio City is down the street.

Great location. Line to check in was extremely long and slow. Room was in poor condition. Mattress was awful. This hotel is in a great location to access many of Manhattan’s biggest attractions. However it is long overdue for renovations. The paint in the room was peeling, the sink cracked, the shower/tub cracked and dirty, the bathroom door delaminated, the A/C system antiquated, the amenities few, the mattress hard with springs pushing through. The wait to check in was ridiculous. While the price of $160 for NYC is considered “low”, I’ve stayed outside of NYC at $60 motels that were nicer.

Adam Garcia saved our trip to NYC First time to NYC - made reservation through travel agency back in February. When arrived to the Manhattan they said our reservation had been cancelled and they had no more rooms. Adam Garcia, an employee of the Manhattan for 19 years, overheard the conversation, and went to his manager, Naval, to see what could be done. Adam said don’t look for a room elsewhere, give me a few minutes. After 20 min or so, Adam said they found us a room. He is polite and cares about the customers of the Manhattan. Adam Garcia is a gem!!!

Comfortable place to stay in New York The room was super clean with a magnificent view to the heart of New York city. Additionally, the location was amazing with only few walks away to get to the Times Square. Moreover, the staff named Racquel was very nice and helpful. Would recommend anyone who want to visit New York to stay at this hotel.
