Cabo San Lucas, Mexico: Watersports, White-Sand Beaches, and Festive Parties

Located at the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula in Mexico and 10 degrees below the Tropic of Cancer, Cabo San Lucas enjoys pleasant year-round temperatures. Just south of town, the white-sand Lover’s Beach (or Playa del Amor) stretches alongside the Sea of Cortez and is frequented by sea lions, and, depending on the season, humpback whales. It’s a popular spot for snorkeling, scuba diving, and swimming. Tour boats and water taxis regularly zip from Cabo to Lover’s Beach and the neighboring El Arco, an arch-shaped granite rock formation that has become Cabo’s unofficial symbol.

Surrounding the marina waterfront, downtown Cabo buzzes 24 hours a day with visitors sampling local tequilas and fresh, grilled seafood. Slip into one of the trendy restaurants near the marina to try chicharrones—fried pork rinds—and chiles en nogada—poblano chilis topped in a walnut cream sauce. The tourist district is also filled with nightclubs and cantinas catering to every kind of visitor, whether they’re looking for conga lines or jazz tunes.

Great time in Cabo San Lucas at Marina Fiesta The hotel is in a great location with lots of shops and restaurants around the Marina. There is lots of security at the hotel and it felt safe to walk around the Marina at night with a strong police presence. Great pool area that we spent of lot of time at as it was so hot. Bar food was good and we were entertained by the gregarious Hugo. Room was large and comfortable for two friends to share. Bathrooms a bit dated but clean and good quality for the price we paid. Friendly staff too. Big shout out to Hugo, Leonel and Miriam for helping us to have a great time.

Annoying I have been to many all inclusive resorts and this one does not compare. The hotel itself is beautiful and the location was perfect. That being said, The management needs help. We rented 5 rooms and spent well over $30,000. After each drink, meal etc. we had to sign a check and tip. This is super annoying. We were paying for all the food and we had to have a seperate check for each room. They are so worried that you're giving someone else food or drinks that they ruined my experience. The concierge is also annoying trying to get you to see the time share presentation. We have a local friend that they would not even allow on the property to set up our fishing excersion without fighting because they were so afraid he'd have a drink and that we weren't using thier people! They also scramble the phones so you have to go off property to call someone. We had a large party of 21 family members. They made us seperate for meals which I understand because of the size but once we were seated we did not recieve our entrees for over an hour. We paid $7,500 for the all inclusive and giving a 15-20% tip added another $2000 to the end bill. (This is not including alcohol because we didn't drink.) The pool was nice but it was 6' deep other than the little kid area and the area by the pool bar. They kept after us to stop our kids from jumping off the side. You could not eat by the pool either you have to stay at the palapa. The gym opens up at 8:00am which is late in my opinion. We were told that the pool with the volley ball net was adult only only to find out later we could have used it. Hugo the activites guy was very fun! We played bingo and 21 and he did a great job and made it very fun. Lionel was exceptional with our baggage and information. Some of the names of peope that stand out are Jerson, Angel & Genise (wait staff) There were others but I can't remember their names. We went to an all inclusive in Cancun in January and we never saw a bill or anything and tipping was actaully discouraged. I will NEVER go here again.
