Myrtle Beach, South Carolina: Sandy Beaches, Golf Courses, and Classic Amusement-Park Rides

Myrtle Beach is the crown jewel of South Carolina's Grand Strand, a 60-mile stretch of white-sand beaches along the Atlantic seaboard that draws surfers, fishers, and kayakers. The city was named one of the best vacation spots in the United States for a family by USA Today, in part because of its wooden boardwalk, which stretches for more than a mile and buzzes with carnival games and amusement-park rides. Hop into the SkyWheel Ferris wheel’s gondolas, surrounded by more than a million LED lights, for a panoramic view of the city below.

Less than 20 miles south of Myrtle Beach, the tiny fishing village of Murrells Inlet provides a tranquil contrast to the boardwalk's hustle and bustle. At Brookgreen Gardens, more than 2,000 sculptures stand amid sprawling floral gardens and massive, moss-covered oak trees that have been around for centuries. Murrells Inlet is also home to the Tom Fazio–designed TPC Myrtle Beach golf course, 1 of nearly 80 courses in the area that helped Myrtle Beach earn its title as the seaside golf capital of the world.

A great suite with oceanfront views. Place is a a little outdated, but was clean and the staff are very friendly. The pools are small but nice and the hot tubs relaxing. Wish the pool had been open during the week. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!

Over due vacation Our stay was nice, a few minor things wrong. But our overall stay was very nice. Clean comfortable room with a nice vew. A little noisy due to Construction going on, could have been a little quieter. But we dealt with it after night it did get quite.

The pictures seem fake or AI, it looks nothing like this. So run down. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. It’s coin only laundry but the front desk doesn’t give quarters… and the coin machine was out of order the entire week. No extra blankets anywhere to be found in the unit and the front is no help again. You can hear everything going on outside: people outside your door just walking by and talking, above, running water in pipes, you can hear car alarms, pool people playing, kids playing at pool til 11/12 at night, ice cream truck with this awful music blaring came about 4 times a day into 9pm and it echoed everywhere, the revving cars all week long…the walls are paper thin. The toilet runs forever in our unit, there’s only one washer and dryer on our floor, but we couldn’t use them anyway. The oven was not clean, the fridge has no glass bottom as if it were broken out and never fixed, the window film is peeling, broken blinds and can’t be pulled up or down, staff never comes around for maid service or anything and we had to go to the store to buy dish soap and trash bags. The unit was bare, front desk does nothing for you and you just basically sleep there and the price is for location in white trash riviera. We were there during Ford Mustang week and you could hear everyone driving by and revving their engines, it wasn’t peaceful and my child could not sleep. The building severely needs updates, all lamps are unplugged like they’re trying to save money, the sliding doors stick and are hard to lock, super uncomfortable beds, they don’t take out trash or change towels, you have to dispose of trash yourself down a chute designated to each floor and ask for new towels (which is about the only thing the front does for you), rooms don’t black out so sun comes in as soon as sun comes up, couch uncomfortable and seems about 30 years old, poop looking stains on the cushions, stained beige furniture (easy to spot), not enough kitchen utensils for my dad, husband, child, and myself to eat with…4 sleeping spots but not utensils for two… Lowest quality sheets, tp, no paper towels provided, staff doesn’t do anything above the minimum. Arcade is four machines (claw machine and pinball both broken), weird outdated vibes, employees 1 out of 5 are helpful, balconies covered in black stains, parking cost $25 a day per vehicle for guests. Only charging for location, showers, bed, and AC. THIS PLACE SUCKS. Expensive to stay here for how cheap it is. “Two free nights” but it’s over $3000 for a week and then after discounts $2500, $500 deposit, No bell carts around. Elevators take forever, separate for lobby and garage. Heard other guests complaining about their experience as well. Warning the internet so you don’t get burned like so many others. This place needs to shut down and severely update. Also, someone’s dirty socks were under one of the dressers when we checked in.
