Hotel at a Glance: Paradise Stream

Paradise Stream is nestled amid the forests, lakes, and peaks of northeastern Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains. The 1960s brought a flood of publicity for the area that resulted in the Poconos being named the “Honeymoon Capital of the World.” Paradise Stream still maintains that romantic feel; it’s an adults-only property, and many guest rooms still have the heart-shaped tubs that made the resort famous.

  • Get physical with numerous activities including hiking, basketball, and tennis.
  • Indoor activities: racquetball, swimming, and game room.
  • Couples massage: unwind in the spa with relaxing body and facial treatments (extra fees apply).
  • Step onto the dance floor at Paradise Stream’s nightclub.

Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains: Hiking, Trout Fishing, and Historical Towns

The Poconos region of northeastern Pennsylvania accounts for some 2,400 square miles of mountains, lakes, waterfalls, and forests. The area has been a popular vacation destination ever since Pennsylvania Quakers opened a hotel here on the Delaware River in 1829. Today, the Poconos draw more than 25 million annual visitors, thanks to year-round recreational opportunities and stunning natural scenery.

The warmer months are a great time to explore the region’s lakes and wooded hills. For spectacular hikes, check out Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, where you can trek to dramatic waterfalls or follow a 27-mile section of the historic Appalachian Trail. A handful of little towns full of antique shops and galleries nestle in the mountains, too. You'll find boutique wine galleries and historical mansions tucked away on country roads, including the late 19th-century Asa Packer Mansion, which is open for tours, in the borough of Jim Thorpe.

Great place. 10/10. We have been in Diana’s Oasis for two days, and it was so sad to leave the place. Great area, staff, and the entertainments as well, they invited a comedian in there we had a laugh. Great place. Thank you.

Not worth the $$ The idea of this place is great, lodging, meals and activities all together. The staff are pleasant, the food is okay..the best thing being the salad bar and breakfast buffet. The bad really outweighs the good here. This week was our 2nd visit, our 1st was 3 years ago and they were doing some updates at that time. For the price charged for a stay, what is received is a true let down. Let me say the first night, at 12:30 am .... someone opened our door, while we were in bed. I was truly frightened and called the front desk. I was told that the security person was delivering towels... to the wrong villa. He called me back and said he knocked and said Security.... this I never heard, but got a really strong odor of pot when I my husband and I were inspecting the locks to see if it the door was truly locking. Why would someone open a door of an occupied villa in the middle of the night? For towels??? I was told he was sorry and it was a mistake and he felt bad about it. This to me just doesnt cut it. I laid in my bed fully dressed and could not sleep. Now, moving to the upkeep of this place, it is falling apart.... decking not repaired, see the epic of the entrance to get in the villa. I felt like the deck was going to collapse. Lightbulbs out on the patio. The door in the villa next door was left open...all day and night....who knows what could have crawled in there. The bowling activity wouldnt work, even after someone that worked there came and reset it. 2 lanes, each day the out of order was switched from one to the other....but neither worked. See pics for some of the maintenance issues I observed. Sorry but this place wont see any more business from me. Great idea, but the place is falling apart and not being tended to in quick enough fashion. I would not recommend visiting here to anyone, it just isnt in good shape.
