Needs Work First, let me say we had no issues with the staff. Front desk was helpful and room was clean. However, I've never been in such a run down hotel. Rugs literally had rolls in them, chopped Formica, burn marks in the countertop of a non smoking room, uncomfortable furniture, and broken curtains on the French doors. Breakfast was carbohydrate heaven, bagles, muffins, waffles, cereal. No hot proteins. Cold hard boiled eggs in a mini fridge and yogurt were the only choices. The entire experience was adequate at best. The only plus was the location, which is near many attractions, but there are many other hotels in the area.

Never again Before I start my review of this hotel I want to state that most of the conversations I had with staff members where done in French as I am a francophone from Montreal. We stayed at the Quality Inn Laval for 4 nights in January. We were in Montreal for a funeral. When we arrived the gentleman at the desk was very nice and quick in getting us registered. We requested a couple of extra large towels as there was only 2 of them. He was very kind and delivered them to our room very fast. That is where the good ended. Our rooms carpet was not laying flat and could potentially cause a person to trip on it, we also had to most uncomfortable couch I ever sat on. ( pull out couch). That was the only place for us to sit other then a business chair that was beside the desk. My husband was not feeling very well on our first full day, so he put the do not disturb sign on the door while he slept, we did not expect our room to be cleaned or made up and that was fine. The next day I told a chambermaid that we would be leaving for the day and if she could do the room, she replied that it had nothing to do with her. I really thought she would let our chambermaid know that we where gone out. When we came back to the hotel around 6 pm, we entered our room to find that nothing had been done, he/she had not even taken the garbage out of our room. I went to the front desk and told the gentlemen; the same one that was there when we arrived 2 days earlier; all he said is I will leave a message. What good is that going to do for us. We want someone to come and get the garbage. When we signed our on our last day, I again complained to the another gentlemen at the desk and told them about our unpleasant experience and expected a discount for our problems, we where told he could not do anything but told us to call the manager the next day, I told him that I expected the manager to call me the next day. My husband told him that we would write a very negative review and was told "whatever". We have stayed at many Choice hotels and have never been treated so poorly by staff members. We stay at the Quality Inn Dorval all the time and really enjoy that hotel, we will never stay or recommend the Quality Laval. To this day we have not received a phone call from the manager.

Great price for the accommodations! My son and I stayed here during the US Thanksgiving weekend, as we were visiting a cat show nearby. I had booked one of the suites, but didn't think it would have two beds (which is typicallly fine for us though he complains I snore!) Imagine our surprise when we opened the door and found a double bed in the sitting room area, and then a king bed in a separate bedroom area! YAY for two beds in separated rooms! The bathroom had dual access from each room as well, and two TV in the suite which was great for watching college football that evening! Seriously, I paid maybe $85 USD for this room! Our neighbors whom we were friends with had the same type of room. The room was clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable as well. Our check in was fast and efficient. Overall, our stay was very nice. The hotel in general could use some updating, I sort of felt our room decor was from the 80's. Higher number rooms (30's-40's) are the furthest away from the elevator. But that may also be where the suites are. It is a haul from the elevator to the other end of the hotel. Yes, there is a stair case at that end, if you are open to getting your cardio work out. We stayed in room 245 and would easily stay here again if in the area.

Messy looking establishment This Quality Inn looked sloppy right from the start in the Lobby. Messy as you enter....messy behind the Front Desk... Went to see the room....carpets badly needing cleaning...we were given a Suite without asking, therefore more $.. so, up-selling! Ended up backing out of the booking and going elsewhere! Not a great experience.

Mr. Just a few words to express our complete satisfaction with the staff and service that has been extended to us during our stay, which was during an ice storm that crippled half the city. The 2 young men at the front desk, Kean & Christophe, go above and beyond to make our stay feel like a home away from home.
