Atlanta, Georgia: Urban Parks and Renowned Aquarium in Capital of the South

Named 1 of 50 Places of a Lifetime by National Geographic, Atlanta lies near the Chattahoochee River in Georgia’s northwest region known for its famed trees: magnolias, pines, and dogwoods. Despite a metropolitan population of more than five million and what is considered the world’s busiest airport by passenger count, Atlanta seems to always offer a relaxing escape. Stroll through the 185 acres of botanical gardens, hiking trails, and oaks at Piedmont Park, or study one of the country’s largest Civil War exhibitions at the Atlanta History Center.

Anchored by historical Peachtree Street, the city’s midtown area boasts a thriving arts-and-culture scene. Opened in 1929, the Fox Theatre features imposing Egyptian architecture and a custom-made organ with a network of 3,622 pipes. Tours take place on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. The High Museum of Art spotlights more than 12,000 pieces of contemporary and folk art, ranging from Renaissance paintings to photographs from the civil-rights era. Kids might better enjoy the Georgia Aquarium, located downtown at Centennial Olympic Park. One of the world’s largest aquariums with more than 8 million gallons of fresh and marine water and more than 100,000 animals, the aquarium is home to beluga whales, lionfish, whale sharks, bottlenose dolphins, and more.

Do not stay there! This was my worst experience! I stayed in that hotel from 07/24-07/25. First, you are not going feel safety. They made you sign a document that you are going to be sure to not leave any important items in your car. They only have one old elevator, the carpet it was dirt with white and dark spot. The AC was leaking in my room and had no towels. When my husband went to the front desk to ask for towels they said that they don’t have any, and the security guy was the only one that told my husband to ask another guy(when my husband ask him, he was very rude). The building outside was dirt. They had a security fence broken in the parking lot.

One Star isn’t Good Enough for this Dump Booked and paid for room for one night so we could be close to the airport. Drove 3 hours, go to check in and they said they were full and had to cancel our reservation!??? Lady said they sent and email (that was a lie). She was rude. What’s the point of paying for a reservation if they are gonna overbook the rooms??? Thank goodness we drove to the airport and stayed at a Marriott that was right beside the airport. Extremely clean and contemporary room and great service. Do NOT go to Clarion Hotel, Atlanta. It’s in a bad neighborhood, with young people running around all over the place!

What a Waste of Time this Place is!!! Paid for a Room up Front - Gave them an Arrival time as they asked for, We were within 30-minutes of getting to the Hotel and they sent a message saying they Over Booked for the night and our Room was Given Away???? Called them and they confirmed this, Front Desk said, Oh well, maybe next time? There will never be a Next Time at this location. We were lucky and Found something else, But if this place with Forth anything, they would gave given us Some options at places to stay, But, as most of their ratings online Point to -- They are Weak at Best and they Call themselves a Hotel?
