Flatiron District, New York: Historic Architecture, High-End Shopping, and Madison Square Park

Located about a mile south of Times Square, the Flatiron District has plenty of history—Theodore Roosevelt was born here, and the area is home to the Met Life Tower, the New York Life Building, and other well-known Manhattan skyscrapers. Back on the ground, the district draws shoppers to the homebases of high-end outlets such as Bergdorf Goodman and Lord & Taylor. Life-long learners can also find a curious attraction in the neighborhood: the Museum of Sex offers visitors a look at more than 15,000 artifacts and artworks depicting human sexuality.

Outside of the Flatiron District, the rest of Manhattan awaits you. Not far away is Madison Square Park, a public park with newly revamped gardens, and the Shake Shack, a popular year-round outdoor burger stand well worth the usual wait (be sure to save room for the frozen custard). The park is just a few blocks from Madison Square Garden, home to the New York Knicks and frequent venue for the city's biggest concerts.

Loved the quaintness of the hotel. The staff was both friendly and helpful. We enjoy the spaciousness of the room, which is a rare find in ny as well as both restaurants…Parker and Quinn’s for breakfast and the rooftop restaurant for dinner and drinks. Impeccable service and attention to detail. We had a wonderful stay.

Great location but not well maintained The service is great and the location as well. The only problem is that the sofa we have in our room was very dirty and we didn’t even want to use it, it had stains everywhere, like it was never cleaned. Also the tv located in front of the couch wasn’t working. Beds are very comfortable and shower works well. But the toilet was so low like it was built for kids instead of adults.

Exceptional staff who will go above and beyond I had an exceptional experience at the Refinery Hotel, thanks largely to their outstanding staff. Prior to my arrival, Miguel’s exceptional support was key in ensuring our stay at the hotel with a newborn was well prepared. During the stay, everyone was so kind, wish i remembered all thier names. Even after checkout, when I contacted the hotel regarding a personal matter to take care of, caused by my own mistake, their staff Morgan’s dedication to superior customer service was evident. She went above and beyond, which truly enhanced my experience with the hotel and made me want to return. The team’s genuine hospitality and efficiency made a lasting impression, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you to the entire staff for making my visit so memorable.

Beautiful hotel, great location I had an incredible time! My first time at The Refinery and it will certainly not be my last. The staff was so friendly and helpful (especially Janeth and Julian I believe his name is), from the front desk. It has an industrial chic look, it smells great as soon as you walk in (a signature scent you can purchase from them), and the room was spacious with a great view. The food and cocktails at the rooftop bar were delicious (had the shrimp tacos and beef sliders), and the jazz bar was relaxing with great drinks and live music. It’s in a great location with a bunch of restaurant, bar, and rooftop bar options. Can't wait for my next stay!
