Hotel at a Glance: Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino

The first thing you might notice about this 4-star hotel is its over-the-top themed decor. The 100,000-square-foot casino, for example, has the feel of a ball. You can dine in restaurants that range from a casual bar and grill to a themed steakhouse that overlooks Las Vegas from the 50th floor.

  • Make a splash in the hotel’s outdoor pool featuring two cocktail bars, waterfalls, and palm trees

The Las Vegas Strip: 24/7 Entertainment and Fine Dining

With an almost unlimited variety of casinos, bars, and live entertainment, the general consensus along the Las Vegas Strip seems to be “go big or go home.” And you can go really big here. Make a beeline for the dozens of 24-hour casinos lining the neon-lit Strip to tango with Lady Luck in high-stakes games of roulette, blackjack, and poker. Be sure to stick around for mealtimes—casinos on the Strip are known for their fine-dining restaurants.

Even Sin City isn’t all casinos, all the time. Go shopping at the high-end boutiques found inside most hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. Head to LINQ Promenade for a shopping and dining experience, then ride atop the High Roller observation wheel. Thanks to the strip’s re-creation of the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas and the Roman Empire at Caesars Palace, you can virtually travel the globe in just a few city blocks. And you’ll find a surprising number of activities in Las Vegas for kids hidden amid the raucous nightlife.

I was skeptical about staying at The Rio, since reviews were very discouraging. I’m glad I did not pay too much attention to it because I had a fantastic stay. The Front Desk people received us very fast and friendly. Staff members were very friendly & helpful throughout our stay. The room was very spacious, clean & comfortable. Only 10 min away (walking) from the strip. Definitely recommended!

Pretty cool… but some fine tuning is needed Sticky globs of what looked like jelly were left on the nightstand by the previous guest. Even when the globs had been flagged with a ripped napkin, the cleaning staff failed to notice. Found more sticky globs on the ice tongs. When the cleaning crew was told about it, they searched their cart for replacement tongs… and finding none, they only apologized for not being able to deal with it. I had to wash them myself. There were electrical sockets that didn’t work, sheared electrical wire sticking out from under a floor lamp, shower stalls designed to have no door that let water out onto the floor, extremely sticky shower valves, and lights in the toilet that were too bright.

Random room searches from security During the DefCon hacker conference, hotel security was entering rooms at late hours looking for 'threats,' whatever that means. These visits were unannounced, and security staff were openly hostile, threatening patrons with trespass charges if they chose to not cooperate. I get their concerns, but this could have been handled better and speaks to how the establishment perceives its patrons.

Terrible hotel and experience I booked this hotel weeks in advance for a family trip. We booked 3 rooms and 1 suite together and they were all renovated rooms. Upon arriving, they informed us that they had limited availability and that the rooms would not be together. As a matter fact, all rooms were as far away as possible from each other. I explained that most of us have disabilities and that we needed at least rooms with proximity. In contrary, they provided rooms so far away that we needed to rent scooters that same day. The front desk representative was so rude to the extent I needed to call for a manager, but this was even worse. The manager provided terrible service and did not care about our concern. Upon informing her that I would submit a complaint, she simply said "well, go online and do so". When we arrive at our rooms, we see that they were not renovated at all. They were even worse than a roadside motel. The small refrigerators did not have any drinks or snacks... Not even the Suite! The ice machines were broken, the elevators were not working, the rooms did not have soap, and the overall aspect was old and dirty. My family visited from Germany, and this was the worst hotel stay we have ever experienced in our life. I would never book this hotel ever again.
