Sanderling Review for September 2024 Facilities and room furniture are very old. Disappointed Kimball’s Kitchen closed so early for the season. It has always been open when we stayed even into September. We got married here 16 years ago and have returned each year since except for covid year; so we are somewhat knowledgeable in our experience.

A huge disappointment After many years of wanting to go to the Sanderling and having it high on my list, it was a disappointment to find that it was just an inexpensive, rundown beach hotel. The room was noisy and unpleasant, the buildiing in poor condition and the carpet dark and stained (and poorly maintained).

Not like a real resort Not kept up. Dirty windows, spider webs all over the place that seem to be there for a very long time. Over flowing trash cans outside for days. Rooms are extremely small. Room was as clean as it could be for what it was. Could use new carpet and to be painted. Bathroom was nice. Everything is really spread out and you have to be able to walk stairs everywhere you go. Not handicapped friendly at all. Extremely expensive for what it is. Shou” be at least half of what it is.

The Sanderling is Tired, Outdated and Wornout What a disappointment….it has been years since we have been here but booked an ocean view king room. The room while clean smelled terrible..dank, moldy. The screen in the door was torn, the blinds allowing for an ocean view were broken and advertised as a full service resort we were left wondering what was full service? No one to help with bags, no amenities in the room of any kind, no one to help with beach chairs and umbrellas etc. Venetta, our room attendant was fantastic. We’d love to come back next fall for the beach is terrific but we think Cape May will be in our future.

Perfect stay We were in the Harris House, five friends. Worked out great. Good resort location for Corolla and Kitty Hawk. Life Saving Station Restaurant was delightful.
