A small but dynamically developing town on the eastern side of the Cascade Range, Redmond is known as the gateway to many hiking opportunities. Visitors can come to see Redmond Caves, a cave system created by lava flow and continuing into the Redmond Canyon. About a 10-minute drive from Redmond can take one to Eagle Crest Resort, a famous complex that is home to multiple golf courses and every winter hosts a StarFest – a night-time light display. The area also boasts a Smith Rock State Park that is considered the birthplace of modern American sport climbing.
