No customer service Booked a golf trip with 3 buddies to celebrate my 70th birthday. Hotel was nice, the golf was not. Our tee times were in the middle of a college tournament (20 some teams!). Did not get to play one of the courses we were scheduled to play due to a no notice schedule change related to the tournament. I was looking forward to the celebratory trip for months so I was disappointed. Would not recommend this resort. Golf pro would NOT return my phone calls and emails to discuss. Definitely a no customer service property.

Not up to the image portrayed in marketing materials. Disappointing. Wife and I went to play golf on our way to the LPGA tournament in Rogers, AR. We played the Legends/Heritage combo for 18 holes. The courses were in great shape. However, very disappointed in the layout! Very tight with tee boxes/fairways too close together. And the restroom on course were extremely dirty! Worse than a terrible gas station. Beautiful club house, but only thing for food was sandwiches' through a window. I can not recommend the large course. We also played Battlefield 18 hole par 3 and had a blast. 180 degrees different from the big course! Restrooms clean, inside and outside snack shop. The course just opened so I hope they keep it this way. Battlefield is only reason for us to return. We stayed in the lodge. Upon arrival thought I'd check to see if we could check in early. The young man at the front desk was hunched over on his phone, never stood up and just said it too early to check in. Asked for directions to the golf course and he just mumbled directions while still on his phone! Only place to eat was in the bar and generally needed a really good cleaning. I was hoping for a nice experience for a buddies golf trip in 2024. Not now!

Way over-rated Calling this place a Resort is stretching it. What the website doesn't tell you is that all the amenities listed are not for exclusive use of the hotel guests. People who own condos, apartments, etc in the "Shangri-la area" can use all the amenities. That means that the pool is packed. If it were for the exclusive use of hotel guests only, it would be enough. However, it is way too small to accommodate all the off-property users. The walls between the hotel rooms are very thin. We could hear every word of conversation in both adjoining rooms--not an exaggeration. Rooms are very basic. We rented two rooms and one smelled moldy and musty. AC worked well. Restaurants were overly crowded, highly priced (3 burgers, sodas and fries was $70!) and food was average at best. The coffee shop was ridiculously slow. We waited over 30 minutes for our cold-brew coffees. Service at all points was mediocre. Nothing about this place feels like "Resort" level. Will not return.

50/50 visit Shangri La is a beautiful resort with lots of activities for active families. We did not golf or use the spa this trip. We DID have experiences at: RESTAURANTS: we ate at Doc’s, The Anchor snack bar, the Starbucks and a catered dinner in the Anchor building. Food was only OK at three of the places. Blah. At the The Anchor snack bar I had a mixed green salad and the bacon might as well have been raw. It was so undercooked and gross. The breakfast buffet at Doc’s was poorly kept filled. And the flies around the serving pieces and breads were just gross——the breads and muffins were NOT under glass or a container. Catered dinner was a Mexican theme and was pretty good. Bottled Drinks ran out and were not replaced. Starbucks——breakfast sandwich was good, but the servers were telling people they would call your name out, but they never did. They just put the food and drinks on the counter. People were waiting for their names to be called, never did. AND as at all resorts, the food was very overpriced. The quality was just meh. Rooms: very nicely decorated, the king bed (235) was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept on. The bathroom was in need of repair. The mildew around the bathtub caulking was gross. The lack of caulking and finishing where the floor met the tub was sub par. And the rust in the tub by the faucets just left me thinking Shangri La does not do regular maintenance. Outdoor pool: Super big and very nice! The bar was great too. Boat rental: Sail Grand is a superior company with boats that are well maintained and a staff who REALLY know how to serve and explain to customers. Excellent exoerience!!! The arcade; our granddaughters enjoyed it. All in all, we enjoyed Shangri La, but would not eat there again for any of our meals.

Beautiful resort - noise issue for sleep. ShangriLa is a beautiful little oasis on a Grand Lake! I visited the spa for a massage (appointment made ahead of time), and Amy did a wonderful job! The pool and cabana bar made for a relaxing afternoon. The Summit restaurant did not disappoint. All staff from entry to exit were quite hospitable! The ONLY issue - the NOISE while trying to sleep. The noise is reminiscent of a Motel 6. We were on the 3rd floor. The noise above sounded at times like a construction zone. Not getting good sleep on a mini vacay is NO fun. I hope this can be remedied!!! It is such a great place -
