Niagara Falls, New York: Spectacular Waterfalls at United States–Canada Border

Every second, hundreds of thousands of gallons of water cascade down Niagara Falls. You can watch the water spill over jagged cliffs from pedestrian bridges and observation decks. The best view, though, might be from the Hurricane Deck, a wooden platform located 20 feet from Bridal Veil Falls. From spring to fall, you can access the platform by taking the Cave of the Winds tour, during which professional guides lead poncho-clad visitors to Bridal Veil Falls via wooden pathways. For an up-close encounter with the falls, you can book a ride aboard the Maid of the Mist; the tour boat shuttled sightseeing guests to the base of the thundering Horseshoe Falls for more than 100 years and continues to operate on the American side of the falls.

Millions of tourists have flocked to Niagara Falls since the early 1800s. Around that time, Napoleon Bonaparte’s younger brother honeymooned in the area with his American bride; scores of newlyweds followed in their footsteps, earning Niagara Falls the nickname of “Honeymoon Capital of the World.” But it's not just romantics that flock to the border town; it's also a family-friendly destination, thanks to its indoor water parks, an aquarium, arcades, and casinos for the 21-and-older crowd. For outdoorsy types, the 400-acre Niagara Falls State Park offers miles of hiking trails.

Night from hell I would have gave it 1 star but the room and view was decent. We stayed in one the rooms with view of the falls with the a door what's opens out so you can see the falls. We booked this room so we could watch the falls light show at night from the comfort of hotel room. Around 11pm at night we received a call from the front desk from very rude man who advised there was noise complaint from us? I then asked for further information because we were sat in dark watching the falls with the balcony door open. He then replied said "someone from the hallway complained" but could not tell me if they were on same floor or from a room nearby. I replied said " well that's funny because we literally sat in silence with no tv on or lights watching falls. We weren't even talking we were too busy taking pictures and videos of the falls, I can prove we were as the times/date on our iPhone. Unless they pressed up against our door listening in I don't understand how they would able hear from the hallway". Then guy was just silent on the phone after that comment which filled 2 young girls in their 20s full of confidence that someone was listening in to us. My friend then rang down 5mins after the event spoken to a lady on the front desk who didn't even know what had happened or was aware of this situation. We advised we were not happy about this and information provided of the complaint was not very valid and that guy couldn't tell us what noise we were making ? Also we advised there were people before on floor who had returned with children that same night the children were laughing and carrying on but we didn't complain because its pretty normal to have that especially in hallway when people are walking past to gain access to their rooms. She apologised and informed us she was going to let the night guard know about this. From that point onwards we were on edge that someone was listening into our hotel room and really ruined the night for us. When we checked out we spoken to another lady to see if anything could be done about she then advised "she would let her manager know and they would be InTouch" I said luckily we weren't asleep or had young child in the room because the phone ringing at 11pm at night could woke us all up. I couldn't stress enough how much this made us feel uncomfortable in our hotel room. When we got back from trip.... 1 week later we hadn't heard anything so I filled in online survey leaving the hotel 1 star review and explained what had happened they then emailed back 2 days later but the email was very basic and generic. Nothing helpful was advised. This experience really made us feel uncomfortable and ruined our night. We would not recommend this hotel because this situation could have being a lot worse if there was someone being weird listening into hotel room with 2 young girls in. I just think this very strange and weird situation. We travel all over and never had noise complaint and never delt with this type of situation before.

Great Staff The staff was very cheerful and they loved to assist. They are renovating the whole hotel, so some rooms and floors haven't been updated yet, but even the old rooms are comfortable. Very short walk top the American Falls or to the Rainbow Bridge to Canada, which is a short walk across to Canada.
