Nice place with a great staff at an affordable price This place is an affordable little gem. It's close to everything you want to see in downtown San Francisco....which means, you are in downtown San Francisco. Expect to see people at their best and at their worst. This place felt safe to me, with 24 hour front desk staff and security. The staff could not have been better, especially Sam at the front desk, who answered my many questions with cheerfulness and patience.
The pool area is charming, with plenty of towels and comfy furniture. (No hot tub though.) Many of the rooms face the courtyard which has a lovely decorative pool. These rooms do not have windows facing the street, which cuts down on noise quite a bit.
The building itself is old, but the furniture in the rooms and the lobby are up to date and in great shape. The beds are comfy and the linens and towels seem new. Good pillows!
I've stayed at a lot of budget motels in SF, and this is one of the best so far!

Very nice My only complaint is I wish the rooms had air conditioners.And the windows don't open.Besides that it was very nice.The front desk staff was very accommodating.Love the pool area.Beds where comfortable.And I like that there was security out front.

Great time at Soma Edward was very helpful at the front desk. Great reception and was very friendly. Gave us maps and told us where restaurants were. I would definitely recommend and come back as well. The parking was also great because we could come in and out with no problems.
