Campsite at a Glance: Son's River Ranch

Located right by a serene side of the San Marcos River, Son's River Ranch invites the entire family to enjoy a relaxing vacation time. Guests can just kick back and benefit from what the luxury campsite has to offer, including fishing, swimming, and unwinding in the riverside cabana.

• Relax and have a BBQ or swim in the river.

• Glamping cabin: are insulated, air-conditioned, and feature TV and DVD player.

Son’s River Ranch also rents Riverside Cabanas that can be added to a guests stay but it’s best to reserve ahead of time as they are normally full every day in the summer and most weekends. In addition, they also rent tubes and kayaks. There's another location 2 miles downriver which is their tubing/kayaking take out. Please reach out to Son’s River Ranch directly to book any rentals.

Greater San Antonio: Riverwalk and Amusement Parks

San Antonio draws upward of 20 million visitors each year. Most come to see the Alamo and to stroll along the city’s 15-mile riverwalk. The downtown segment of the walk is by far the liveliest; its winding stone pathways lead to restaurants and cantinas, public art installations, and the massive Rivercenter Mall.

The Museum and Mission Reach extensions of the riverwalk—added more recently—connect you to the San Antonio Museum of Art and the city’s historic Spanish colonial missions, respectively. Families might want to venture beyond downtown to SeaWorld San Antonio and Six Flags Fiesta Texas, both located on the outskirts of the city.

There are 24 Glamping Cabins in total, each is identical and comes with: 2 queen-sized beds with foam mattress. They also feature a kitchenette with mini fridge, coffee maker, hot plate with pots and pans and blender. The campsites do not provide silverware and dinnerware, so be sure to bring these, though linens and towels are provided in the Glamping Cabins. For inside entertainment and relaxation, guests will find a TV & DVD player. Outdoor amenities include: comfortable wicker seating, hammocks, fire-pits, BBQ pits, picnic table, outdoor lighting, water and electricity.
