Don’t waste your time. Marriott really needs to do some investigating on this property. Very underwhelming for what we paid, front dest staff seemed put out when asked for explanation of final bill, elevators didn’t seem to work properly when mentioned fell on deaf ears. When checking in to room it smelled of bleach so bad we had to air out. Apparently when I laid a shirt down on the dresser it still had bleach on the surface and now so does my shirt. Condensate dripping from the ceiling where the air vent was causing a puddle on the floor we had to keep drying up. Out of the 4 days there our room was actually cleaned once. Couldn’t use the couch area due to a mystery stain. The vents were covered with dust. We reported all the issues mentioned above and still haven’t heard from anyone. Upon final check out the my charged our card for several miscellaneous charges, and when asked for an itemized bill, they could not supply it to us that we were to call their accounting division (whatever that means). The bar was uneventful and the tender was nonchalant and ignored us for the most part after serving our 2 $42 piña coladas. One bright side was whitecaps sweets and treats. You definitely get your moneys worth there. Ask for location you couldn’t ask for a better beachfront property. Too bad it’s run the way it is.

Hopeful things will improve to level we have come to expect at this hotel Not sure what happened in the last 6 months, it is unfortunate the hotel seems to be going downhill dramatically. We've stayed at this hotel multiple times over the past 3 years and prior to this recent trip we were not disappointed. Just in 5 months time since our last visit the hotel doesn't seem to be receiving the same level of maintenance and upkeep as it was previously. We paid a hefty per night room charge during peak season for less than stellar hotel stay. Respectfully communicated our concerns to the front desk and Marriott. For future visits to the area, we will think twice about where we plan to stay. > Be aware the PET POLICY has been updated locally but not reflected on the Marriott website** It is now pet friendly. Room next to us had a dog that was left alone and crying/whining/barking loudly at night for long periods of time. We thought we had booked a pet free hotel and website still states this policy today with exception for service animals of course. However when we contacted the front desk about the dog noises from room next to us that night, we were then informed the hotel is now pet friendly with a fee. We were told the pet policy changed months ago but this was not updated on hotel website; perhaps new general manager decision? Nothing against animals but at over $500/night we wanted to get some sleep. (this was 1 room change) > General upkeep issues: Hallway carpeting was visibly stained on multiple floors (noticed this when we had to change to 3 different rooms during our stay due to issues). The rooms were not in as good of condition as our prior stays. Rusted vents, air conditioner issues and shower caulking needing maintenance. In first room assigned the air conditioner was not working properly (this was our first room change). >Emergency alarms for fire evacuation occurred twice during our stay. Once in the afternoon necessitating building evacuation and the other at 1230am (YES -in the morning) it was brief but enough to startle us awake. Positives: great location on the beach, enjoyed the pool and beach chair service, staff in the cafe serving pool patrons (kudos to Shaun for being a rockstar), appreciated the food options available around the pool, morning breakfast buffet ladies are hard working crew that keep things running efficiently and cleanly, housekeeping staff were friendly and kindly provided us with additional towels when requested, free parking, comfortable beds, activities provided are family friendly. Rio working the desk in evenings does his best to accommodate guest requests.

Expensive for an average hotel $2,500 for 7 nights is expensive for what you get, granted it’s on the beach but it’s a public beach, and people who walk on the beach will cozy up to you under your paid for umbrella. Check in time is hectic because there aren’t enough luggage carts. Common areas are not very clean. AC in rooms aren’t adequate. Only 2 elevators means you’re gonna share rides with huge maintenance or housekeeping carts - one cart full of clean linens tipped slightly and spilled clean towels that were picked up and put back on the pile. Breakfast has plenty of sugary choices but little protein, and the chocolate milk was sour one morning. One petite woman who worked the breakfast, worked efficiently and non stop. Even with a 3 out of 5 rating, it’s the best hotel you get in Navarre.
