Erie, Pennsylvania: Wine Country and 19th-Century Mansions

Pennsylvania’s fourth-largest city, Erie, is a bustling place where around 100,000 people live on the shores of enormous Lake Erie. It flourished in the Gilded Age, so don’t miss a visit to Millionaires Row, a section of West Sixth Street lined with 19th-century Victorian mansions. At night, leave the Victorian era behind in favor of the Roaring Twenties and see a show at the ornate 1929 Warner Theatre downtown. It’s home to both the Erie Philharmonic and Lake Erie Ballet.

In the region surrounding Erie, you can drive along the Lake Erie Chautauqua Wine Trail for more than 50 miles of scenic vineyards, rolling hills, and 24 wineries pouring everything from classic European wines like merlot to local varietals like delaware and niagara. Another major attraction is Presque Isle State Park, a National Natural Landmark full of trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing and beautiful frozen vistas created by icy waves crashing and freezing to form ice dunes.

Didn't get the welcome bag, and pool was beyond freezing. But other than that everything worked out just fine. Clean room, fairly comfy beds (sister slept on couch so idk how comfy that was.) Check in was easy, we showed up 30min early so had to come back until the 3pm check in time for room to be ready. Staff was nice. Breakfast was a nice spread, typical eggs and waffles.

Great experience! I enjoyed staying at this hotel, atmosphere was quite & a lot of restaurants around; also it’s so close to mill creek mall. They provided varieties of food for breakfast, COVID restriction policy was fully observed here. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, thanks for having us!

Nice, short stay near a lot of restaurants. The hotel was nice and clean. It’s been renovated relatively recently it appears. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was typical for this hotel category (e.g., eggs, bacon, yogurt, muffins/bagels, waffles, etc.). The hotel is located near a lot of chain restaurants—-several walkable. There is a grocery store across the parking lot and very walkable.

Sports Teams Mania _ We booked a block of rooms for 2 sports teams due to a tournament that our basketball team attended. The evening staff, Taylor and Dylan, were tremendous! Sports teams are never easier in a hotel, especially with 18 seventh grade boys. _ Taylor and Dylan were extremely accommodating as well as patient! I highly recommend booking a stay at this hotel!

Highly Recommend Three of us stayed in one room (suite), 2 queen beds and a pull-out bed. Very comfortable room, quiet, and we were able to keep the fan on all night for white noise. Would've been perfect except for my sister's snoring, but that's another story. Taylour at the front desk was awesome and helped with all our needs. Caroline in the breakfast area was kind and accommodating when I asked about gluten-free options. They have a small but nice workout room, and the pool looks pretty sweet too.
