Hotel at a Glance: Tahoe Lakeshore Lodge & Spa

Lake Tahoe draws visitors not only for its breathtaking scenery—the Sierra Nevadas form a ring around the water—but also for the skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, and biking that take place in the surrounding mountains. Set on a private beach on the lakefront, Tahoe Lakeshore Lodge & Spa provides premier access to Tahoe’s ski resorts, restaurants, activities, boating, and casinos. From here, you’re only 1 mile from trails and the casinos and 2 miles from Heavenly Ski Resort, ranked the country’s most scenic resort by the Ski magazine.

  • Room with a view: Lodge rooms with a lake view feature knotty-pine furnishings, gas fireplaces, and a private balcony or patio.
  • Take a break: If you’re in need of a recharge, head to the lodge’s Elements Spa for a massage, body wrap, or facial.
  • When it’s warm: Take a dip in the hot tub or lounge along the private beachfront.

South Lake Tahoe, California: Year-Round Haven for Outdoor Adventures and Late-Night Revelry

Lake Tahoe has no real off-season; people find ways to make use of its pristine water, beaches, and mountains all year long. In the summer, the lake’s clear, freshwater surface—which straddles the California-Nevada border—is dotted with swimmers, boaters, and jet skiers. Several ski resorts typically stay open from November to April, and Emerald Bay State Park is accessible year-round. A moderately easy hike to the base of Lower Eagle Falls reveals breathtaking views of the waterfalls crashing down from above.

Spectators gather at night for South Lake Tahoe’s events, which range from wine and food festivals to rock concerts and fireworks displays. A few miles northwest of South Lake Tahoe sits Stateline, Nevada, where a handful of casinos host high-stakes games of blackjack and solitaire.

Excellent lodging & location We stayed here for 2 nights, and absolutely loved it! Our visit was during record breaking Temps in July, and when I learned the room didn't have AC, I was concerned! My fear was unfounded, as the breeze in the room, along with the provided fan, made it most comfortable! This was our first trip to Tahoe, & we couldn't have had better accommodations! Our room, 305, had the most beautiful views, & was perfectly situated to enjoy the Thursday night concert on the shore! Highly recommended staying here, as the location is perfect, & very convenient walking distance to food & souvenirs!

Great Location High Noise Level from Upstairs Movements We stayed for two nights in May, 2021. Our room was on the 2nd floor. We could barely sleep as we could hear EVERY footstep above us. We would stay here again if an upstairs room is available. The location is close to Whole Foods, Safeway, Starbucks, McDonald's, and many restaurants.

The BEST place to stay in Lake Tahor We found this lodge last October and we just returned from another 3 day stay. The Lodge is on the beach and the Corner View Kitchen Suite has 6 glass windows/doors that give fabulous views of Lake Tahoe! The staff is friendly and so accommodating. We will be back soon!
