We love this resort. It's a short drive from home in the DFW area, they allow dogs in the Villa rooms and we can eat, drink, go to the bar and be entertained on property without having to leave the premises.

We recently stayed in a king room with a lake view at Tanglewood Resort to check out their facilities for summertime fun and really enjoyed it. The room was just so-so and not much of a view - no balcony - but all in all was adequate. Our deal included a free breakfast which was a fantastic buffet at the Commodore.

Good place for a family getaway We picked this resort because it was in close proximity to the Marina where we were fishing out of. The rooms were clean and and the beds were comfortable. There was a mini fridge, microwave oven and a coffee maker in the room. NOTE there was no bottled water for the coffee maker. Roll the dice on the water from the vanity. We tried to eat at the restraunt the night we arrived however, no one ever came to the hostess stand. We went to the grill and had dinner there. The food was good. The sweet potato fries were delicious. We did not Swim but there is an excellent pool area and families were having a great time there. Upon check-in they failed to let us know the convienance shop by the front desk is open 24 hours. A resort amenities flyer would have came in handy. The room I was in had a deep tub which you had to step over a 24" tub wall. There are no slip resistant mats in the bathroom be carefull. The body soap dispenser was empty, there was facial bar soap on the vanity.

The Lakeside Restaurant is Back! We are members of the resort and spend quite a bit of time on property. The service has always been super friendly and helpful. The Lakeside restaurant has had some ups and downs. Well, the new menu has is back up! So far, have sampled the artichoke dip (a meal of an appetizer), Shrimp Fettucine Alfredo and the skirt steak. All were fantastic! After dinner, take a stroll to the Whisky Tower and enjoy the views.

Great resort. Excellent location. Friendly staff. We traded our timeshare through Interval International for a week at Tanglewood Resort. We opted for a two bedroom condo. The one bedroom king bed condo would have been plenty. The check-in process was quick and easy. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The one bedroom condo was one of the largest condos that we have visited. The kitchen was well stocked. Furniture was nice. Each condo came with a balcony. Bed was comfortable. The resort was close to the lake, and it is probably lake event oriented in season. In January, not much was happening. There are lots of other things to do. We will come back again in warmer weather.
