Named 1 of 50 Places of a Lifetime by National Geographic, Atlanta lies near the Chattahoochee River in Georgia's northwest region known for its famed trees: magnolias, pines, and dogwoods. Despite a metropolitan population of more than five million and what is considered the world's busiest airport by passenger count, Atlanta seems to always offer a relaxing escape. Anchored by historical Peachtree Street, the city's midtown area boasts a thriving arts-and-culture scene. Opened in 1929, the Fox Theatre features imposing Egyptian architecture and a custom-made organ with a network of 3,622 pipes. Tours take place on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. The High Museum of Art spotlights more than 12,000 pieces of contemporary and folk art, ranging from Renaissance paintings to photographs from the civil-rights era. Kids might better enjoy the Georgia Aquarium, located downtown at Centennial Olympic Park. The room was way outdated, had mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, the little AC unit is not big enough for a room this size( it never cooled off in our room). Really the only good thing was that you can walk to Stone Mountain from the hotel.

A terrible place to stay. I normally do not write reviews about my experiences at hotel but this particular hotel was horrible. The hotel was filthy externally, unkept grounds, pool is closed, debris in the halls, cracked structure, peeling wall paper. The air conditioner did not work, the shower heads are accumulating rust, large roaches running about the halls and in the rooms, cobwebs on the balconies and windows. Completely unkept. The location is excellent which is why this hotel exist but I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else.

Worst Hotel, EVER !! Mother's Day ruined due to the absolute horrible condition, service and amenities of the inn. Demolish and Ruined Mother's Day . Horrible conditions, amenities and services. The inn should be demolished and rebuild. Uninhabitable. Nightmare experience. Shocked by the condition of the room. Everything was out of order or in need of repairs. Unbelievable that they are in operation. Codes are certainly not enforced Patio and closet doors would not open. Toilet not bolted down. Refrigerator was filthy. Only two towels for a room that can accommodate approximately 5 guests. One used roll of toilet paper, a small bar of soap, no coffee maker or microwave. The staff were inattentive to our concerns and it took 3 hours to get a response after numerous calls. The Inn may be an Historic building but it is totally inhabitable. The Inn should be demolished and rebuilt, or become a park exhibit. At this time it is a fire hazard, which is run down, fllthy, in need of repairs and a waste of anyone's hard earned money who stays there. Worst Hotel EVER!

Do Not Reserve The Inn at Stone Mountain! I have been visiting Stone Mountain since the early 90s and have treasured my experiences there. My husband and I enjoyed a trip in February a few years ago and could not wait to share the experience with our son and new family. We booked the Inn at Stone Mountain where we stayed previously and had a wonderful time IN THE PAST. Upon arrival, the property was ominously dark, without any outdoor lighting, empty parking lot and we joked for a moment about it possibly being closed. I had just spoken with the front desk agent on the way because we came through a lot of rain and were a little later than expected. We found the office door to be locked which was strange at just 8:30pm and didn't feel safe or welcoming. Front Desk agent came to the door, and got us checked in. We only saw two other cars in the very dark parking lot. Upon entering the enclosed exterior hallway, we smelled an extremely strong pot smell. We entered our room to find a really musty smell, curtains not hooked properly, sliding glass door not operating properly, extreme amounts of dust in areas of the room and brown water in the commode and sink that did not go away with repeated running. There is not a vending area. Guests actively smoking pot in the enclosed outdoor hallways, drifts into motel rooms. It was so late, and we had a long drive, we planned to tough it out for the night. I dialed "0" from the room trying to reach the front desk, but it did not sound like the same person I had checked in with. She indicated there were drinks for sale in the front desk area. My husband and child went to the office to purchase drinks, and no one would come to the door. At this point, we found a Walmart a mile away and went to find drinks there. We did not feel at all safe at the Inn at Stone Mountain and decided to try to find other lodging, which we were able to book at the Evergreen. At 10:30pm Friday night, not even settled into the room, we checked out of the Inn at Stone Mountain and moved to the Atlanta Evergreen. Upon arrival, the Evergreen seemed like an entirely different world being completely lit up outside and full of cars and guests as we would expect on a Friday night. We made our way to our room and settled in for the night after 11:00pm. I understand that both facilities are managed by Crescent Hotels. I have been in the resort industry for over 30 years. I have never had an experience like we did at the Inn at Stone Mountain. My family ended up paying three times what we had planned. I understand a lot of challenges that properties face from my own career, but the Inn at Stone Mountain was an unacceptable environment for my family, especially my young son. Even at the Evergreen, pot smell came into our room from the balconies around us all night long. We may be a minority not being into it, but it still is illegal in Georgia and it is not something that should be allowed. Especially by properties that are supposed to be a family environment.
