Hotel at a Glance: The Mutiny Hotel

Throughout the 1970s and early '80s, The Mutiny Hotel, along with its famous Mutiny Club, was a major player in Miami’s nightlife scene, attracting international jet setters, celebrities, music moguls, and athletes. Even Miami Vice depicted characters partying at the club. Though The Mutiny Hotel closed its doors in 1985, it reopened in 1999 after renovating its suites and adopting a more intimate, laid-back atmosphere. The luxury boutique hotel is housed in a distinctive 12-story tower that rises above a yacht-filled section of Biscayne Bay in Coconut Grove.

  • Spacious and stylish one- and two-bedroom suites feature a tropical, yet understated motif, as well as full kitchens and flat-screen TVs.
  • Scenic views of Biscayne Bay can be seen from private balconies in some of the suites.
  • Table 14 Bar & Restaurant serves international cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and has outdoor seating next to a poolside waterfall.
  • Take a dip in the heated outdoor pool, which is lined with lush tropical plants and tiki loungers.
  • The famous South Beach is a only about 25-minute drive from the hotel.

Miami: Balmy Climate and Vibrant Nightlife in South Florida

Towering skyscrapers, high-rise condos, and performing-arts buildings punctuate the skyline of downtown Miami. During the day, the area is filled with busy professionals headed to and from the office, but at night it becomes an entertainment hot spot as bars and lounges open their doors. It’s also home to AmericanAirlines Arena, where you’ll find big-name headliners—think U2 and Madonna—as well as Miami Heat games. Next door, Bayside Marketplace is a nice spot to eat dinner and do some shopping along Biscayne Bay.

Take Route 1A across the bay and you’ll find yourself in Miami Beach. The southernmost portion, South Beach, is known all over the world for its vibrant, pastel-colored art-deco hotels and rollicking nightlife. But the rest of Miami Beach has charms of its own. Water temperatures at the city's pristine beaches stay on the good side of 70 degrees all year long, and views of the Atlantic Ocean are unparalleled. A seaside boardwalk stretches for more than 70 blocks, providing a scenic pathway for jogging, biking, or conga-lining your way from North Beach to South Beach.

10/10 As always! I loved the hotel and the people from the Front Desk and security were super friendly and polite. I stayed two weeks and I enjoyed it a lot! The fact that you have the bar downstairs, jacuzzi, spa, gym, makes it an amazing experience. Also it is boutique and its nice to feel cozy - different than a lot of the Miami hotels. You have privacy and it is a very quiet zone. Definitely I'll stay here again. Thank you!!!!

A Diamond Gem in Coconut Grove area Stayed at this well managed, comfortable , clean and centrally located hotel. The views of Biscayne Bay are absolutely gorgeous, so much to do within a 5 minute walk to Cocowalk or a short ride to gorgeous Key Biscayne, Brikell Ave or South Beach with Dinner Key Marina and park across the street. Perhaps the friendliest and accommodating staff in the business.

Average hotel needs updating. This hotel at best is a 3 star in my opinion. Lobby is nice and welcoming. The room provided a full kitchen, living room and bedroom. It needs updating. The bathroom had cracked, broken tiles and not clean. No housekeeping but a $30 cleaning fee. They were doing work in other rooms so could hear banging and saws during the day. It is valet only and our car was scratched. The valet company Park one is stating not covered. I will not be staying here again.
