Ten of ten! Amazing hotel! We only spent one night there but we would love to go back again. This might have been the cleanest hotel we ever stayed at. The staff was friendly and welcoming . The hotel is different than any we've stayed in. You have to see it to really appreciate it. 10 out of 10!

THE RADICAL IS NOT SO RADICAL I am Ambassador level at Marriott which entails 100nights + 23K in Marriott spending. I am currently at 100 nights. I chose, the non Marriott,’The Radical’ because it looked like, on line, a refreshing cool experience in the Asheville Arts River District. CONS: 1. Conner, who stated that he was the hotel manager, checked me in. I gave him a credit card that I did not want to have charged to the room until I found the correct cc. After 15 minutes with Conner, he assured me that the new cc I provided was in the system. After a few days upon check out, I realized the entire bill was charged to original cc. All for naught. 2. Parking: Valet @ $25. Per night vs. Self parking on a not so easy to get to dirt road was $16/ night. If you choose the $16 pay parking: 1. A long drive down a dirt street to park your vehicle in the back of the hotel and you must scan & complete a QR scan to ‘pay For parking from The Radical. My vehicle was covered in dust during my stay. You must scan a QR code and register your vehicle. At > $400/ night, this unacceptable. If you chose this option, your car will have to traverse over a dusty, gravelly road for 0.5 miles,to reach the back of ‘ The Radical’ every time you go in and out. 3. I ate at the in house restaurants at least 3times. There are wildly variable times to get food. 4. The Radical hotel has a disconnect between being able to charge items/restaurant bills directly to your room. I had to have my cc on hand to charge a cappuccino. I repeatedly heard “ we are experiencing computer problems” 5. Morning breakfast options are pay downstairs and $6 cappuccino , coffee and stale pastries until 11am. 6. After meal number 3, I ordered a smash burger at the upstairs bar. It was absolutely dry as a bone around $25. I asked the bartender why ?. He said it was a ‘smash burger’ and is meant to be served that which he acknowledged was ‘dry as a bone’ I gave my $25 smash burger to my dog. The previous hotel bar top restaurant refused to serve me food at 08:40 pm when they actually served under 21:00pm! 7. I visited the in house restaurant, after roof to hours, for the 2nd time. I ordered a la cart. The mashed potatoes were inedible ( cost @ $10) for a side. I asked the bartender, who I knew from the rooftop bar,to give me another order. He basically, was completely unprofessional and blamed it on me complaining and grudgingly gave me a warm up version of original. No apologies, only belligerence on his part , reported to conner who stated this would be taken up with food service manager. Response = zero. I never review in TA , but this experience = complete fail. PROS:cool hotel design in arts river district Asheville. Easy walk artists’ studios and the River Walk. The area is up and coming and quiet and peaceful. All bars/restaurants close by 10pm EDT. Hotel is really cool and well thought out. Employees, for the most part, are great. THE RADICAL , Is a work in progress. I do not know what The Radical thinks that they can get away with, but NO! Radical. Keep plugging along ************************************ I M currently staying at The Breakers on PALM BEACH , FL THIS HENRY Flagler rezort is par non The most magnificent hotel and resort in America.

Great Unique Hotel. Awesome location. This is a really neat hotel with great employees. The decor is amazing from lobby to room to roof top bar. Room was immaculately clean when we arrived and again each afternoon when we got back to recharge. The rooftop bar is definitely a highlight. Filled with a mix of guests and locals each night. Views of distant thunderstorms over the river were memorable. Bartenders were excellent with drinks and info about Asheville. Folks at front desk and the coffee shop were great to deal with all weekend. They all seemed to be really happy to help with whatever we needed. Will be back….

Beautiful hotel with a great location Really nice stay at the Radical. Highly recommend for a couples trip. The hotel is brand new and everything was immaculate. We especially loved the location. It is close to everything and had a convenient parking lot behind the hotel we could come and go from with ease. We ate an excellent lunch at the hotel restaurant, Afterglow. If you go, be sure to try the seafood beignets! There is a lot to do within walking distance, including the Wedge brewery and a couple other bars/restaurants on Paynes Way. I also squeezed in a hair appointment with Michele at Ananda hair studio on Paynes Way, which was great and so easy. My husband made a lot of use of the nearby river trail for daily runs. He said he preferred it to downtown because it avoided having to do a big hill at the end of every run. The hotel also has a nice looking gym and hosted roof yoga at 9am on Saturday.
