Hotel at a Glance: The Skyline Hotel

Two walls of windows line The Skyline Hotel’s indoor pool, letting guests take in Manhattan’s scenery as they float in the heated water or unwind in lounge chairs. It’s a relaxing setting when sunshine floods the pool deck with natural light, but the view is especially dazzling when skyscrapers light the landscape at night.

  • In-room amenities: windows that open for fresh air, and blackout curtains for a good night’s sleep
  • Pets welcome: Up to two may be added for an additional $200 refundable deposit per stay.
  • Tex-Mex classics including fajitas and flavored margaritas are on the menu at El Original.
  • Free WiFi in public areas makes it easy to stay connected.
  • Staying in shape: The fitness center is stocked with cardio and weight-training equipment, along with mats for yoga.
  • Convenient parking is available for an additional $10 per day.

Manhattan’s Midtown West: Edgy, Urban Vibe with Lots of Restaurants

Though it’s a stone’s throw from top attractions such as Central Park, Broadway, and Radio City Music Hall, Midtown West can feel a little grittier and less developed than some of the surrounding NYC neighborhoods. Stretching roughly from 59th to 29th Street and the Hudson River to 8th Avenue (though some say it continues as far east as Madison Avenue), Midtown West lacks the chain restaurants of Times Square and the large department stores of 5th Avenue. Instead, you can find neighborhood markets, cafés, and walk-up row houses.

Midtown West is also known as Hell’s Kitchen, a nod to the numerous restaurants that serve everything from Asian street food to fine French cuisine. The neighborhood’s eateries and bars are especially concentrated along 9th and 10th Avenues, and it’s easy to walk between them all.

One of the many hotels in the area being usesd to house homeless & recently released convicts! Do not & I repeat DO NOT stay here! This is full of homeless & recently released inmates. They are literally dropped off by the bus load! They hang out outside & harass the local residents. Crime in the area has sky rocketed because of the hotels in the area doing this! YOU WILL NOT BE SAFE HERE!!
