Atlanta, Georgia: Urban Parks and Renowned Aquarium in Capital of the South

Named 1 of 50 Places of a Lifetime by National Geographic, Atlanta lies near the Chattahoochee River in Georgia's northwest region known for its famed trees: magnolias, pines, and dogwoods. Despite a metropolitan population of more than five million and what is considered the world's busiest airport by passenger count, Atlanta seems to always offer a relaxing escape. Stroll through the 185 acres of botanical gardens, hiking trails, and oaks at Piedmont Park, or study one of the country's largest Civil War exhibitions at the Atlanta History Center.

Anchored by historical Peachtree Street, the city's midtown area boasts a thriving arts-and-culture scene. Opened in 1929, the Fox Theatre features imposing Egyptian architecture and a custom-made organ with a network of 3,622 pipes. Tours take place on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. The High Museum of Art spotlights more than 12,000 pieces of contemporary and folk art, ranging from Renaissance paintings to photographs from the civil-rights era. Kids might better enjoy the Georgia Aquarium, located downtown at Centennial Olympic Park. One of the world's largest aquariums with more than 8 million gallons of fresh and marine water and more than 100,000 animals, the aquarium is home to beluga whales, lionfish, whale sharks, bottlenose dolphins, and more.

This hotel was extremely clean and the staff were so friendly and nice. This was a birthday weekend with my daughter and our first time to Georgia. We drove down from New Jersey visited the aquarium and had a blast. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great Stay Experience I am writing to post the exemplary service my daughter and I received from not one…..but two Westin Buckhead Atlanta associates! We attended the National Book Conference August 2nd - 4th 2024 and stayed at your beautiful hotel. 1) Raphael Johnson was very professional, answered my questions, and had a great all around attitude! Kudos!! 2) Taneidrea (didn’t get her last name) was equally very professional and answered any further questions I had about my stay with a great armttitude! Kudos to her as well!! I have been in many hotels in many cities and these two are among the top of the great experiences I have had during my stays. The next time I visit your hotel, If these two aren’t there at the time, I can only wish the associate(s) that assists me will have their characteristics and level of care! Thank you! Timothy Smith

Comfortable hotel BUT beware of wrong charges. The lounge staff is great, my great complements to Redija for her great customer service. Housekeeping is also outstanding. The rooms are really nice and extremely comfortable beds and pillows. The only complaint I have is with the Palm Restaurant, $9.00 for a regular cup of coffee? and that is eating inside the restaurant. I was so shocked and disappointed looking at the bill that a $21 regular American breakfast ended up being $43.00. How can that be you may ask? Well being shocked and knowing I would never eat there again, I paid the bill and after leaving the restaurant when I was back in my room I looked again at the bill and I noticed a $7.00 charge for "IRD" (in room dinning). Now im upset and went down to the front desk to very politely request credit for the charge (my breakfast bill that was paid in person with my credit card at the restaurant). I was told the charge would be put back to my credit card that day (I even left a copy of the receipt). To this day (almost a month later) still no credit. Like I said..,,nice comfortable hotel but beware of wrong charges.
