Beltsville, Maryland: Historic Small Town Between Baltimore and DC

Beltsville is located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC. It’s a small community with historic roots reaching back to its founding in 1649—many buildings in town are on the National Register of Historic Places. From here, you’re a quick drive from DC’s National Mall, which stretches 2.5 miles east from the Lincoln Memorial, past the soaring Washington Monument and to the Capitol Building on the other end.

Notable sights in Baltimore include the National Aquarium—home to more than 16,000 sea creatures in realistic habitats—and the wonderfully weird American Visionary Art Museum, one of the country’s leading institutions for outsider art. For a great view of Baltimore’s skyline, the Inner Harbor, and Chesapeake Bay, head up to the observation deck on the 27th floor of the Baltimore World Trade Center, where you can see the city from 360 degrees.

Disappointed Traveler I've had the pleasure of staying at many different Confort Inn hotels and this was the worst ever. The hotel is not openly handicap accessible and they do not go out of their way to make suitable accommodations. I advised the hotel I do not do well with stairs as I use a cane and walker. I was told to walk out of one door and walk outside along the walk way where there was an incline to enter another door to bypass the stairs. This made my two night stay very inconvenient and stressful to my body. The room was extremely small in comparison to the rooms accessible via the elevator. When I requested a room change I was advised there were no other available rooms. The bathroom was dirty. Especially the toilet and tub where there was a slow leak that continuously dripped. I will never stay at this location nor reccomend my family and friends.

PURPLE REIGN Great hotel and staff. Ashley was an amazing coordinator! We came in and had some minor issues and Ashley and the front desk staff made sure that all was accommodated. We will be returning this hotel some time in the near future.

Distusting and smells rank This place is terrible. My dog is cleaner than the room was. Not only do the charge a rediculous amount of money for pets, $100 extra, the room was dirty and had a really rank smell. The front desk was rude and our room was difficult to access (no elevator to second floor). I have stayed in many hotels over the years, this one was by far the worst and not worth the money it was printed on.
