New Orleans’s French Quarter: Let the Good Times Roll

“Stop thinking of New Orleans as the worst-organized city in the United States,” writes author Dan Baum in Nine Lives, his post-Katrina book. “Start thinking of it as the best-organized city in the Caribbean.” Some folks think there is something distinctly foreign about New Orleans, a place where people’s priorities seem inclined toward enjoying life and relishing the moment at hand. Nothing says it better than the town’s unofficial Cajun creed: “Laissez les bons temp rouler,” or “Let the good times roll.”

Historical buildings with intricate wrought-iron balconies line the narrow streets of New Orleans’s French Quarter. Here, street musicians often fill the air with jazz music, their trombones and tubas swinging back and forth. Just off the Jackson Square park and near the towering St. Louis Cathedral, the legendary Café Du Monde serves beignets under heaping piles of powdered sugar. The nearby Frenchmen Street, just north of the Quarter, provides a slightly less touristy taste of New Orleans nightlife. Some of the city’s most popular live jazz and blues bars dominate this historic two-block district, with each venue hosting world-class musicians nearly every night of the week. And then there’s Bourbon Street, where neon lights advertise frozen cocktails and crowds gather along 13 city blocks.

We had 2 beds that seemed to be full sized and was a bit cramped but the room was clean, comfortable and chic. The staff are the best! Everyone goes above and beyond....can't imagine staying anywhere else in New Orleans!

The greatest hotel in New Orleans! My girlfriends and I flew in from ATL for a girls trip weekend! At the hotel bar we were greeted by the two funny bartenders Liam and Craig. They set the mood with some Mai Tis and Pimm’s Cups. Mark the Chef brought out the best Baba ghanoush and hummus that I’ve ever had! The pita bread was warm and toasty. We took an Uber to Tipatina’s and saw the Soul Rebels play. What a show! This hotel has a great location. Right in the middle of everything. Close to the French quarter, but not too close. The bed was super comfortable. The hotel over all was very clean. After being out all night with my girls, it was really nice to wake up to the all you can eat breakfast buffet and hot coffee! You can order food from the kitchen at not extra cost. I got the open faced egg and prosciutto toast. Chef Denise brought it right to the table. Excellent service! We can’t wait to come back to the AC NOLA!

Can’t beat the location! Great location. Comfortable beds and friendly staff. We were greeted warmly by the staff from the beginning. You can’t beat the location. Hotel was clean. The only negative is we wanted to meet Tyler the bartender due to all his reviews, but we was not working on that Saturday? The replacement bartender did not know how to make drinks, just pour beer. We had to show him how to make one. However, I’d stay here again.

Perfect area for a pretty average stay During this pandemic, it does not seem they uphold the protocol for safety. Barely any masks are being worn especially as the travel and tourism is ramping up and people are coming from all over. The room is beautiful but don't expect a microwave for the large portion foods you will likely be taking back to your room. Staff is very nice and always greet you with a smile. Please be patient as they are hiring and training new people as tourism ramps up. Valet is pretty slow but they are doing what they can. Back to the room, the walls are thin and the doors are heavy so be prepared to hear other conversations and laughter and bumps over your head as well as doors slamming through the night. The bed is hard so if you like that kind of thing, good for you. I don't. I have a crook in my neck/shoulder as a souvenir. Other than that, the modernization of the room and the friendliness of the staff makes for an average review.
