Hotel at a Glance: Tropicana Las Vegas

Tropicana Las Vegas ® – a DoubleTree by Hilton Resort Casino is located on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip. Just minutes from the airport, convention centers, T Mobile and Allegiant Stadium. The hotel boasts a unique South Beach vibe, redesigned casino, Mandara Spa, and top-of-the-line fitness center. Tropicana Las Vegas now also houses several award-winning restaurants including the new Robert Irvine’s Public House, Glow®. Things to do beyond lounging in the property's luxurious pool include first-class entertainment acts like Purple Reign: The Prince Tribute Show and MJ Live in the Tropicana Theater, shows at the Laugh Factory comedy club, and live music in the Trago Lounge.

Tropicana Las Vegas ® – a DoubleTree by Hilton is not affiliated with any other Tropicana property or brand.

  • Outdoor swimming: The Tropicana's sprawling pool snakes underneath a pedestrian bridge that connects the resort's two 20-story towers while waterfalls splash beside the pool's edge (open seasonally).
  • Five award-winning restaurants: Gather for a laid-back meal at Robert Irvine’s Public House, dine at Oakville Tuscan Grill, Red Lotus Asian Kitchen, and grab your specialty coffee at Starbucks.
  • Nightlife excitement: Guests sip frosty cocktails at Chill'm or hang at the Trago Lounge.
  • Gambling The Tropicana Las Vegas' very own casino spans 50,000 square feet. Remember to sign up for your player's card after your arrival.

The Las Vegas Strip: 24/7 Entertainment and Fine Dining

With an almost unlimited variety of casinos, bars and nightclubs, and live entertainment, the general consensus along the Las Vegas Strip seems to be “go big or go home.” And you can go really big here. Make a beeline for the dozens of 24-hour casinos lining the neon-lit Strip to tango with Lady Luck in high-stakes games of roulette, blackjack, and poker; or grab a front-row seat to the city’s over-the-top glitz at nightly magic, acrobatic, and musical performances. Be sure to stick around for mealtimes—casinos on the Strip are known for their fine-dining restaurants and extravagant buffets overflowing with crab legs and prime rib.

Even Sin City isn’t all casinos, all the time. Go shopping at the high-end boutiques found inside most hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, or head to Fashion Show Las Vegas to browse racks at Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue. You can also virtually travel the globe in just a few city blocks, thanks to the Strip’s re-creation of the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, and Venetian canals. And you’ll find a surprising number of activities in Las Vegas for kids hidden amid the raucous nightlife.

Breakfast Service We came here for a volleyball tournament and this was the hotel we had to stay at. Marjorie who works at the free breakfast is amazing. She is kind caring and helpful. She went over and above what one would expect! She greeted us daily with a smile. She is engaging and interested in what you say and always offers to help with anything you need at the breakfast. I would go back just because of her!

Had to go one last time! When I was 17 years old, I took Greyhound bus from Detroit to Las Vegas. The trip took me three days. I turned eighteen, as we pulled into the terminal, in downtown Las Vegas. Unable to afford the bus fare, a hotel room (at Tropicana), and a weeks worth of tickets, for 9 performances, by The Osmonds, I stayed at the old Holiday Inn, near the old Dunes Hotel (both have been torn down). And so, when I learned that fifty years later, the Tropicana Hotel was also closing, I had to travel to Las Vegas and finally stay there! Of course, once there, everything had changed. I couldn’t figure out where The Osmonds had performed. The cafe, near the casino floor, where all the fans hung out, was gone. The tennis courts where we watched Donny and Jay hit around a few balls was long gone. I tried to sleep in that area, one night. The Osmonds were doing a Meet and Greet, the following day, and I was out film for my camera. I asked the Holiday Inn if I could get a refund, for my final night, and told them why I needed the money. They were more than happy to hand over the $13.75! After being kicked out of the tennis courts, I sat up, all night, on a bus bench. I went back to the Tropicana, the following morning, with my little suitcase. Girls ran towards me and wanted to know where I had been? Mr. Osmond had been told about me. He asked the hotel to find me and comp me a room. My bus back to Detroit was leaving later than evening. So, I purchased the film, went to the Meet and Greet, then headed back to Detroit.
